Wednesday 02 April is the day of the Switch 2 direct. In a matter of days we should know everything about the console, the price and what games to expect in the launch window.
Let's get some final predictions in before the direct in a few days. Whoever gets the most predictions right wins..............
I'll get the ball rolling.
Launch price will be £379.99 - The Switch OLED launched in the UK for £309.99 and I'm expecting the Switch 2 to be more expensive. I'm prepared for £400, but I'm locking in £379.99 for my guess.
Game prices will be more expensive. Current RRP on first party Switch games are £49.99. I think this will go up to £59.99.
"C" button will be a cast button so you can use the screen on the Switch and the TV for certain games, kinda like the Wii U.
The mouse function of the new controllers will be a big part of the direct. Nintendo will show off a new version of Mario Paint that uses the mouse, plus we'll see some third party games that make use of this feature (Age of Empires, The Sims etc)
Screen is not an OLED but an LCD screen.
First party launch games:
Mario Kart 9 - This is going to be the big launch title. MK8D is already the perfect MK game, so how do Nintendo top that? My guess is to go hard with the single player. Remember when Diddy Kong racing had a single player story mode? I think we could see the same for MK9.
New IP - No idea what it could be, but Arms was the new IP to launch with the Switch and I think they'll have something similar here with the Switch 2.
New party game like 1-2 Switch or a family Switch port title.
That's it. I think Metroid Prime 4 will be OG Switch only.
Third party:
Too many to choose from, but I'll pick 3 that I think are a cert for launch day.
Halo: MCC
Dragonball Sparkling Zero
Elden Ring
There will be more, but those 3 alone would make this a great launch line up. Not the best
