I just got early Xmas gifted a Switch 2. This screen is way doper than I was expecting.
Downloading Mario Kart.
What else do I need to do?
Fast Fusion and Bonanza???

Get Hades 2 and/or Silksong if you don't already have them. They run at 120fps and are gorgeous.

Now you can sell at a loss because it has no games.

Mine is pretty much collecting dust at this point.

Get the exclusives you don't own on other systems. Donkey Kong, MP4..

I actually love Mario Kart world and Fast Fusion

Bananza is one of the best game of this year imo

Did you own a switch 1 to start with? Because it's different to recommend things for someone first time in switch library or if it's just switch 2

BOTW/TOTK are just incredible with the s2 upgrade. I also like the new Zelda notes app.

DKB is one of the best platformers I've ever played. I liked it more than Odyssey.

There is actually a pretty crazy holiday sale going on in the eShop, I'd check that out.

I just started Zelda age of calamity not that long ago and it's really good so I would imagine age of imprisonment is even better

I really liked Pokemon ZA but for me it's more of a cozy rpg. It's really easy outside of some post game/dlc stuff. Still I'm enjoying it a lot.

Fantasy life I just went on sale, started that one this week

DK Bananza and Mario Kart are the two essential exclusive games for now. Pick another one you prefer later (Kirby, Metroid, Pokémon, or Age of Imprisonment).

Of games that received updates, Zelda BotW and TotK are definitely worth it. The updated version of the first RDR is also pretty good.

For indie games, I'd pick Siksong and Hades 2. There are several others too, like Dave the Diver, which received an update. BALL x PIT and Fast Fusion are also pretty good.

For third-party games that aren't too old, I'd pick SF6 and Two Point Museum. For older ones, consider Yakuza 0, Cyberpunk 2077, or the remastered FF Tactics that was released.

I'm sure Steam Deck players are thrilled when they hit Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom and watch their FPS bounce between 12 and 40.

Definitely the "superior experience" right there
It depends on the model; if it's the Steam Deck LCD, the battery probably ran out first.

Nice.
Bananza is great fun
BotW/TotK are both higher res and run at a locked 60 if you haven't played or finished them yet
Metroid Prime 4 (despite what people here might say otherwise) is a lot of fun if you're in the mood for traversal puzzles. The game also looks gorgeous. And while on the topic of Metroid.. please play Dread.. it's SO goddamn good.
And if you like Zelda/muso games - Age of Imprisonment's combat is -really- fun. Ton of content but if you'd rather just do a playthrough for the story you can finish it relatively quickly too and move onto something else.

Why buy a system to play PC games in the worst way you can play them?
Playing games comfortably in bed with AR glasses projecting games on the ceiling is most certainly not the worst way you can play PC games. Nor is having the same setup traveling.

Being chained to a desk hunched over a mouse and keyboard is the worst way you can play PC games nowadays.

If you're hunched over a mouse and keyboard that sounds like a "you" problem no?

Also, those glasses are like $400. Also also - you can use those things on everything anyway

I have a pc that I don't game on anymore.
My switch 1 was collecting dust. I never finished botw and I got a lil stuck on dread.
Downloading fast fusion and MKW.
Super hyped for Bonanza at some point ….
This is a good guide for what is considered the best stuff on the system:

For Switch 1:

How long can you lie in bed playing like that? not trying to be a jackass, it just sounds like something that can get exhaustive after a while.

I can understand that Steamdeck is awesome of the go, but at home, it plays the same stuff on your PC with worse settings.

Sucks for you. I've been playing Ass Creed Shadows, MP4, DB Sparking Zero, Hyrule Warriors AOI, and Persona 3 Reload, and just upgraded Skyrim to have the most superior native portable version of the game. If anything it has TOO MANY games to play (esp with FF7 Remake right around the corner)

Honestly have had the most fun with Kirby Air Riders. Definitely get it if you like racing games and/or Sakurai's games.

Sell it and buy yourself a Steam Deck. Problem solved. /thread

Episode 18 Ghost GIF by The Simpsons

Bad screen/battery and no games.
Sell it and go for an AYN Thor.

Come back maybe for the next revision and only if they have must play first party games.

Games I can recommend:

- Fantasy Life
- Civilization VII
- Hyrule Warriors
- Hades 2

Between those four I've almost paid off my Switch 2, absolute time eaters.

I agree with others, if you haven't played them Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom at 60fps are glorious

And Pokémon Scarlet/Violet at a decent performance level is definitly worthwild

It was hard to get for a long time
It was? By various accounts it was readily available to purchase after a few weeks because Nintendo well stocked the market. Anyways I read it more like its been out a while but its early in the a.m so whatever, not a big deal.

Congrats OP.

Get yourself a decent glass screen protector. Then enjoy the games it has to offer across it's various console generations.
