So after a lot of drops and falls my S2's screen is rather broken. It's still usable, but I figure now is the time to upgrade without remorse, replacing a screen is such a drag. I basically only use it for texting, browsing, taking pictures, and sudoku. What should I replace it with GAF?

Yeah, I didn't want to assume S3 just because it's the 'most powerful' phone on the market, there could be phones out there with a better camera, or build quality or whatever. (Although I do quite enjoy the Android ecosystem)

Welp, the S3 is a great candidate for what you are looking for TBH. You could look into the Nexus 4 if you want something for $299. But it would help a bit more if you told us where you are and what carrier.

I'm in Canada and I own the phone, so I'd be fine going with any carrier at this point. Unforunately I'm not in Van or Toronto so WIND or Mobilicity isn't an option.

Then honestly I would recommend a S3, or HTC OneX. Maybe a Nexus 4 if you can get your hands on it. Those first two are 6 or so months old, the N4 is new but cheap if you can find it. I don't know much about the camera of other phones, so thats about as far as I can really help you. All 3 of those have moderate to very good cameras with the N4 having the worst of the bunch.

Is there a certain price range in mind?

iPhone 5 - iOS, polished design, apps, somewhat closed ecosystem
Nexus 4 - Android, polished design, pure Google services and support, fragile
Galaxy S3 - Android, tons of support, Touchwiz, plastic-y
Nokia Lumia 910 - Windows Phone 8, great camera, slick design, lack of many apps

The cameras are all pretty similar, with the iPhone and Lumia coming out slightly on top.
At the end of the day, you could probably pick any one of these four and be completely happy.

I like the idea of the Note 2, it's almost a tablet and since I basically utilize my S2 as one I could see the increased realestate being nice.

Xperia S same specs better screen and camera.
also very cheap and if you want to get some thing high end than note 2 or I5

I had the same thing happen to me a week ago (S2 screen shattered). Decided to replace the screen rather than getting a new phone, even though it was quite costly. I just wuw my S2 so much.

It's truly a glorious device, and not nearly as bulky in your pocket as you might think.

Get a Galaxy Nexus. It's cheap, as powerful as your S2 and has a larger screen to play sudoku on.

Edit: Oh, pictures. Never mind me then.
