Releases dates aren't set in stone, and some of those games don't have an actual release date

not a chance that zelda is done already and coming out in march.

Not a chance that it's out in March. It's more than likely done, for all intents and purposes.

I doubt that Zelda is anywhere near finished. If they are going to sit on a complete game for 10 months, it had better be longer and have a lot less stupid filler content than Wind Waker.

Zelda's scheduled for 2nd quarter 2005 in the US according to Nintendo. I'm guessing June.

hopefully the american and japanese release date are a lot closer than Wind waker was.

I think it would be a nice surprise if Zelda was a summer release, and Mario 128 was their Christmas blockbuster.

However, my head and instinct tells me that that is purely wishful thinking. Mario 128 is already on the Revolution, and Zelda is going to help the Cube limp through one last Christmas.

Nintendo would be retarded not to hold Zelda for christmas.

Also, i finally got around to playing Misadventures of Tron Bonne.

:D :D :D :D

P. 25.

Reg: "You know, Mr. Miyamoto said that quite emphatically in the last couple of days, so...it's coming out on GameCube!"

Oh....Reggie *rolleyes*

He is too busy taking ass and kicking names to know where the game is right now. A second generation without Mario at launch would be an insane decision. Didn't they learn anything from this generation?

Just so I have this all straight in my head, your contention is that you know more about the day-to-day operations of EAD than does Nintendo's executive VP of sales and marketing.

OKAY

Besides, who says there's not going to be a Mario game at launch with the Revolution?

It's not that I know more than Reggie, just that that guy is little more than a PR loudmouth. Which means:

A.) He's not the most trustworthy. His job at the moment is to keep the Cube on life support, and telling us that their premiere franchise has moved on is not a good way to do that.

B.) He's not in Japan, working with their studios and designers. If the game is still on the Cube, I'm probably not going to believe it until it's on an official release list, with screenshots and media available. Or at least until there's something better than a second-hand paraphrasing of Miyamoto. Direct quote would certainly be nice.

**fingers crossed for Mario Party 9 and Rape Rape High School WITH MARIO**

Hoping for a Mario platformer at launch after a 4-5 year development cycle for the theoretical GameCube Mario 128 is about as fruitless as hoping for Halo 3 at the Xbox2 launch.

But you're acting as if Reggie is just some talking head. He's very high up the food chain, which means he knows what's going on. He's not going to go on the record with something that cut-and-dried unless it's a certainty.

I'm not saying it'll happen for sure, but it's hardly pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking to say that they could bring Mario 128 to the GameCube this year and have a new Mario platformer on the Revolution when it launches -- especially since Revolution's launch is looking more like late 2006.

I have always assumed Xmas 2006 for Revolution. Two Mario games is just farfetched. A company that has strained to put out more than one Mario platformer per generation is suddenly going to put out two games within the span of a 12-18 months?

Mario 128 on Cube is possible, Mario 128 on Revolution is possible. But two Marios in as many years is crazy-talk, given the company's history and their development style (polish, polish, polish). If 128 really is something new and exciting and never-before-seen, it seems like kind of a waste to put it on GameCube. Nothing is going to change the system's course....it has too much, errrr, "momentum". If anything I think Nintendo's pride in their innovation will motivate them to put it on a system where it will get more attention and be more influential.

Reggie is "on the record"? Yeah, kinda sorta. It's such a stupid and half-baked reassurance though. They could easily renege and they wouldn't draw much ire....which is kind of the point ;)

Do we actually know that Mario 128's a platformer though? Wasn't it hinted to be more of a puzzle/action/strategy game with unique physics? Maybe that's what GameCube gets while a proper 64/Sunshine style 3D platform game hits Revolution the following year?

We don't know that. That was not hinted at, ever. All we know is that it's supposed to be a new, unique, innovative gameplay.
