I'm a bit of a tech noob with a nice new TV, and I was about to order a Gamecube component cable when I found this Digital Video Cable. My TV manual tells me it does progressive scan and all the things component does, so I'm just wondering if one might have any advantages over the other.

The other cable is for Japan only AFAIK, get component from www.nintendo.com

I'm in New Zealand (pal console with Freeloader) so whichever one I get will be Japanese.

I doubt your TV will accept the D-Terminal cable.

Why's that? Is its VGA In port not the same as D-Terminal? It's the sort of port you plug a computer monitor into.

Yes I think it looks the same as the VGA connector, but it's not the same video standard. Meaning, you can't use the D-Terminal cable with your computer monitor.
