Gamecube Import (US version) questions

Since I have bought a projector capable of doing 480p, 720p, 1080i I'd like to play the games I still have to buy on Gamecube in progressive scan (480p)

Resident Evil 4, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario 2, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Tales of Symphonia,Zelda: TP are games I still have to buy, first I was planning on buying a freeloader + the NTSC versions of these games so I could play in progressive scan on my PAL Gamecube.

though, I hate it to boot up the freeloader disk every time I want to play so I'll be buying a NTSC Gamecube. Since this is the first time I'm going import I have some stupid questions:

1) import site with fair prices wanted
2) what do I need beside the NTSC Gamecube? A 220V --> 110V converter [http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=77&products_id=1597] + component cables, what else?
3) What about Audio? the component cable only sends video signals, I have to use my composite cable (in the second input on the back of your Gamecube) for audio? though.. I heared the following:

The digital output has been removed completely from more recent GameCubes, both PAL and NTSC.

1) dvdboxoffice.com, free shipping to euroland

2) 220V->110V converter would do, but a 220V PSU works just fine on a NTSC GC, I called the local Nintendo support and they send me one for 30EUR ... they even packed in a free long sleeve

3) you need a GC with digital AV port for the component cable, audio via the other port, just use the standard composite cable

I bought mine from here http://trezorshop.com

$130 with shipping.

I said them I want DOL-001 version (with digital A/V out) and they shipped it. You need component cable for 480p out. Yes, composite cable for the audio. $9.99 110v->220v converter is enough for Cube.

This dvdboxoffice.com offer sure looks nice if it's DOL-001 version.

I have a US modded Gamecube which has the A/B out port on the back that I'm trying to sell. I originally sold it on Ebay but the guy took ages to respond to my e-mail then tried to lower the price.

PM me if you're interested. It has the required stepdown converter needed.

If you know the following details:

Details Get help with this.

Manufacturer: Nintendo

Rating: N/A N/A
Region: 1 Region One - North America
Product #: 90143820
UPC: 045496940393
Product Code: Nintendo GameCube

how can you see it is the DOL-001 version? I'd prefer buying my Gamecube on dvdboxoffice than on that "trezorshop" But I don't want to unpack my GameCube seeing it has no digital output

I don't think you can from that info. I asked trezorshop and they replied, you should ask too.

Ok I'll made contact with DVDboxoffice.com, it's great they don't ask any shipping to euroland.. even for a GameCube!

I think it's the DOL-001 version since it says:

Nintendo Gamecube Console: Limited Edition Platinum
©2003 Nintendo
N/A Nintendo GameCube
Release Date: Tuesday, January 20, 200

Nintendo removed A/B out port in the summer of 2004 no?

I have some other stupid import questions:

1) I see many great Canadian import sites, they are NTSC and will work on US consoles right?

2) could you list me some great cheap & reliable import sites, I have the following:

a) videogameplus.ca
b) play-asia
c) dvdboxoffice.com
d) lik-sang (free shipping but expensive)

3) if you receive games of those sites, are they factory sealed? (I want my games sealed ;p)

My cousin bought a gamecube on dvdboxoffice about a year ago and it was the model without the component output.

All games from this store (and dvdsoon.com, and videogamesplus.ca) and factory sealed and work on the US GC since it's NTSC. Games from play-asia and lik-sang are factory sealed too.

Videogamesplus and play-asia ftw.
