GameCube Menu Music

That would be the soothing music you hear in the system's menu, for instance when you boot up the system without a game in it. Is there a music file of this available?

Speaking of this, I bougth a Jet Black cube when it launched, and I recently got a platinum. The music is different - the tones are a lot longer and they don't end until the next note, as opposed to my launch cube which fades each note off.

When did that happen? Am I the only person to notice this?

Seriously, being able to listen to that music would be the sole reason for me to keep my GameCube for years to come, especially with Revolution around the corner and it being able to play 'Cube games.

Still, a music file would be a lot more convenient.

Revolution wil have an even better background tune.

Wouldn't mind that for my windows startup sound.

Okay, I'll make one for the GC startup and one for the menu song.

If anyone knows how to 'upgrade' from a raw .wav to a higher KBPS than 128, just post and I will put the raw .wav up too.

Reminded me alot of the music in the secret "holes" from LoZ: OoT.

Maybe I forgot, but I never even really noticed the background music until now. The actual menu sounds are what always captivated me. I remember listening to them and thinking, "Damn why don't any tracks in WW sound like this?", very enchanting.

Here you go, guys:

After some number of downloads, yousendit gets rid of the link, so if someone that gets it could re-upload, then everyone could probably get it.

If what Dyne says is true, my Gamecube is a Platinum one bought in early 2004. I don't know when it was made; I'm guessing it says on the bottom of the system, which is blocked off by my Gamecube Player that I have no idea how to remove normally.

Enjoy, or something. My apologies if they are too loud; for some reason stuff records really loud lately. I reduced the Gamecube Startup by 6 decibels, but the Menu screen song was coming out pretty quiet, so I didn't adjust the volume.

's ok .. if you're interested in smooth ambient music like this, you might as well listen to some aphex twin or boards of canada.

The changed the background sounds between hardware revisions? Odd... now I want to dig up my old MP3 files.

(I must admit, I'm confused as to why anyone wants these... but who am I to argue?)

Man, I use to just turn that music up and listen to it by itself, it's really relaxing

Wait Hermit, I just noticed your avatar!!

Where'd you get that artwork? That's awesome. :D
I'm not sure, but I think I took it from some website dedicated to Mario's 20th birthday. Different (Asian?) artists made little drawings of Mario combined with some other stuff, or an artist's impression of Mario himself. Found the website somewhere here on GAF.

Man, you're my hero of the day. Really, thanks a bundle.

I think the musical notes/sound effects that play as the GCN logo manifests. Like, they're different if you hold down Z on the P1 controller than not, and there's a 3rd version that plays if you hold down Z on all 4 controllers (I think).

You might as well do the alternate GC startup as well :)

Z trigger on pads 1 and 4 or something wasn't it?

I only have 1 controller and a Hori pad. I'm not too sure what you guys are talking about now. :/

If someone figures out exactly how and what to do for it, then I can try.

GCN boots up without any user input = Chime 1
GCN boots up while P1 controller has Z held = Chime 2
GCN boots up while P1-P4 controllers have Z held = Chime 3*

*I believe that's how Chime 3 is accessed, but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm pretty sure you can begin holding Z after powering it on, so long as the boot up animation hasn't yet begun. Both methods should work. Test it out, you can do Chime 2 with only 1 controller.

Its like a Sigur Ros instrumental interlude or something. I forgot how good it is. And yeah, I also get a Boards of Canada vibe..
