GameCube Menu Music

You won't do it anyway!

See, I'm in a catch-22 here...

I promised to update the charts, so I should...
However, if I do that now, I'm bumping a month-old thread. That's frowned upon.

Now, if you wanted to find the thread for me and post a cheery "UPDATE IT NOW, LORD DAYTON" message, I might find time to do that in the next week or so.

Maybe.

thanks for these mp3s! awesome!

i'd love to collect all the different consoles bootup/menus music. playstation and dreamcast and all of them. does anybody have those on their computers or know of a website that logs them? if not whatever but seems like a funny thing to have around at the moment.

I could do PS1, PS2, Saturn (if it isn't dead), Dreamcast. Did N64 have anything? I forget.
If they're close (and GBP does them faithfully), I could also do Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and GBA via the Gameboy Player thing.

Nah... N64 didn't have a system menu or sound.

Game Boy startup ping requires an actual Game Boy -- the GBP produces the GBC sound.

I have a Super Game Boy start up sound around here, somewhere...

If you guys really want this stuff, I can try to drag out my Saturn and Sega CD.

Edit:
Super Game Boy "ping"

Maybe you could do them all since you seem to already have most of them anyway!

I'm not sure if my Saturn works anymore, either (plug burnt up and it was playing screwy so I haven't touched it since).

Sure, give ME the hard work... (grumble grumble)

Sega CD "Hidden Track" -- I have no idea what this is, but I stumbled across it.

The Famicom Disk System has a loading tune... and I'm suddenly wondering if the 64DD had anything.

It's something to do and it's not bumping a super old topic.

Sadly, you have me on a technicality.

I think.

I'm actually a bit confused as to how the need for "something to do" ties into all this, but as I've captured all the sounds I can find (for the moment)...

(Note: The DS has an alternate intro sound on your birthday.)

Wow, thanks for confirming my suspicions DavidDayton. I knew there was something different.

As well, between the two different iterations, the "press start" of the "play disc" screen changed from pink to purple. I have no idea why they would do that. I wonder if they made additional changes with the removal of the component port.

Then there's the change in the quality of image between the two. I swear the newer one looks worse but I can't put my finger on it. They both use my S-Video cable.

PS - The alternate DS sound is actually worse than the normal startup sound. Just sample it normally, and take a program like audacity to raise the pitch. Voila.

Hmm.. okay... I do hear the difference between the two GC menu tracks. One has "overlapping" hums, the other seems to fade out before each new hum. Odd.

Maybe the tune changes based on whats on your memeory card?

Or are there really diferent SFX on different Cubes?

No, I've both extensively enough to know.
