Games you "got" this year, but it's obvious you're the only one

Under The Skin -- shallow but ultimately entertaining little party game.
Kirby and The Amazing Mirror -- if this had been released in the SNES era, you fruits would consider it an all-time classic. It's Kirby meets Metroid, and it has real length, depth, and challenge.

I guess Capcom Fighting Evolution. The game is almost universally panned (and with good cause) yet I can't stop playing it, despite it's obvious mediocrity. Dunno why.

EDIT: Holy shit Drinky, a Kirby game that's challenging??! Metroid style structure?? Holy fuck, I'm picking that up ASAP.

I honestly can't accept that the majority of GAF overlooked Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. It just doesn't seem right.

I'd probably have to say VJ2, Outrun 2, and Gradius V. VJ2, and Gradius V are excellent off the bat. Outrun 2 offers great nostalgia, and watching the flag man do his routine before the race is well worth it.

I bought it, but there's just so much shit to play right now.. I haven't gotten around to it yet! Soon!

Congrats on the Kururin, that ROCKS. :D

Whiplash. Yeah, still.

Also Driv3r, screw all you hatarz

I would also say RalliSport Challenge 2, but I think lots of people got that one. I think it deserves honorable mentions in anyone's GOTY list.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Mario Golf (GBA)

I played Kirby up to 20% or so, but eventually got stuck at some place where i couldn't figure out who i had to swallow to make it through the wall. Actually i swallowed everyone around. I'm probably Kirby weaksauce. Or i was just at the wrong place.

I'm not the world's biggest Kuru Kuru fan, but then again, I wasn't a Mr. Driller fan before Drill Land, so I'm willing to give it a shot. I just hope I'll have the time for it upon arrival.

i'm not the only one, but neo contra and advance guardian heroes don't get nearly enough love. that they got sixes and sevens in the media makes me wonder if i share any common ground with reviewers at all. the first viewtiful joe probably got too much love, but i'm perplexed that people are ignoring the sequel. i'll pick up the ps2 version as soon as it comes out.

edit: forgot blood will tell/dororo. it's great. and i think it sold about 3 copies. :/

my old impressions of these games:

neo contra: http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=20294

blood will tell: http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=16135

advance guardian heroes: http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=14657

note my affection for the word "rocks."

I might have to buy Blood Will Tell next year if I can find it anywhere...

Both games sound fun. I haven't played a new Kirby title since Kirby's Dreamland 2 in the mid-90s... I should pick it up too.

The Moment of Silence- It's a great graphic adventure game(Point and click)..not as good as Grim Fandango, but what is :)

I got Eternal Darkness back in January. Can't say I regret that. One of the best games this gen IMO :)

At least you didn't pay full price like I did. Then again, I don't mind giving Silicon Knights an extra $20 of my money to thank them for Eternal Darkness.

Does Robotech: Battlecry count?

Goddamn, this is the first game that has made me stop playing it because of it being so repititive.

Some of these are older, but I got them all this year: A Turbo Duo with Ys1-4, Tengai Makyo 1-2, Dracula X, and some other games that were kinda disappointing... Legend of Starfy 1-2, (still need the 3rd one), Slime Morimori Dragon Quest, Gradius V, Katamari Damacy, Shadow Hearts:Covenant, Rez, Rhapsody of Zephyr, and possibly getting Growlanser:Generations and SMT:Nocturne for Xmas

Monster Summoner
RTS on the GBA - whoda thunk it? It's not quite as resource-management heavy as stuff like C&C, but it's still pretty good, even if it is easy to get "well stuck" on some levels.

I got Kururin Squash too! :D

Outrun 2 is being put on "hold" until I can import the Japanese version, which releases next year and will have more tracks and cars. BOOOOO to you, Sega. :P

Where did you get Japanese version of Outrun 2 going to have more tracks and cars? (if you got it from magic box they were wrong about the information). Both Sega and sumo digital said the Japanese version is going to be like the US and version.

anywya, the the little known games iam playing are: Outrun2, Gradius 5 and Maximo vs the Army of zin.

Bonus tracks have recieved some tweaks and changes. That's all I can say for the time being. Some of it is animation, some if it is to match 'existing' versions of point to point tracks *cough* Daytona Power Edition *cough*. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you'll have to wait see. That's about the best hint I can give right now.

Red Dead Revolver might be the only one I can think of. The only real problem I had with it was its length.

djbox - I could spend hours on this if I were to just sit down with two songs and screw with all the options.

Could I have some more info on this game?

Edit: Saw the site, and damn. That looks fun to fuck around with.
