Gamescom starts virtually on Tuesday, with a major games (and entertainment) livestream called Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by The Game Awards emcee Geoff Keighley. This year's Opening Night Live starts Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT​

Before Gamescom ONL officially starts, there will be a 30-minute pre-show hosted by Kyle Bosman. Keighley promises "multiple new game announcements" will be shared. Opening Night Live's pre-show starts at 1:30 p.m. EDT/10:30 a.m. PDT/6:30 p.m. BST/7:30 p.m. CEST.​

Gamescom is still more like PAX and less like E3. Its primarily made for the people who actually go there and want to play already announced games and experience "gaming culture". Meaning lots of cosplay and merchandise. Its not so much for the people overseas wanting to see "world premiers". Of course they have tried to pivot a bit since the fall of E3, but its still not their bread and butter.

So not go in expecting too much.

RE9 demo is gonna be playable at PAX West, which is Aug 29- Sept 1. If they make the demo available to the public, I don't see it happening until then or later.

We're gonna get probably some video of part of the demo, which I won't really wanna watch to avoid spoiling my experience..

Chances of a Dragon Quest XII showing are virtually zero, so I couldn't care less about the showcase's "big" reveals. Although, more footage of Phantom Blade Zero, Beast of Reincarnation and Ninja Gaiden 4 is definitely welcome.
