I'm hoping we get more info on this...

Seeing as how they will most likely release the new UI sometime in the fall, and it'll be august when gamescom happens, I see them releasing the new UI to the Preview Program next month. May be announced during one of the Xbox Daily shows during the event. They definitely need more testers for it, and now that Windows 10 is out and Windows 10 mobile is next and is around 80% feature complete, it would make sense for them to migrate some workers to the Xbox team to help out.

I hope so. I want that new UI so bad. Mouth watering and all that jazz, you know?!

Mobile is supposed to be released in October/November so I don't think we will see Windows 10 on the Xbox One sooner than that.

date predictions: new ui goes to preview members(very limited) on the following Friday (mass testing in late august/early September), as well as with 22 new games arriving for BC testing. QB gets an April release date, crackdown May or June release, with scale bound releasing in February

No way Crackdown is that early. Crackdowns gonna be a fall title.

MS already has

Quantum Break
ReCore

and probably Scalebound launching in the first half of the year

with

Crackdown
Gears
Forza

launching in the second half.

I am thinking a handful may slip into early 2017. 2016 already looks loaded.

It does look pretty packed but they'll probably be spaced out better unlike this year where all the games are in the fall.

Example:

Quantum Break = February
ReCore = April
Scalebound = July
Forza Horizon 3 = September
Crackdown = October
Gears 4 = November

The holiday months are usually pretty heavy on exclusives anyway. This year we have
Forza 6 = September
Halo 5 = October
RotTR = November

I don't think it'll be that packed if spaced out right. More games for us :p

Also its probably smart releasing the 3 new ips at the beginning of the year to avoid the holiday madness.

there is no way they are going to launch a platinum game in the summer

I think Quantum will be January and Scalebound in April. With Crackdown being early August.

But I agree that both Quantum and Scalebound are closer to release then what people think. This will be the coming out party for Scalebound and the start of the marketing campaign for Quantum Break.

They need to establish a narrative that Xbox One has more then just Halo this fall as their USP, and there will be interesting content the second we step into 2016.

Sea of Thieves aswell

Probably something like

March - Quantum Break
May - Scalebound
July - Recore
September - Forza Horizon 3
October - Sea of Thieves/Crackdown
November - Gears

Scalebound and Recore might be switched, ntkrnl said spring 2016 for Scalebound and MS said spring 2016 for Recore but with QB being pushed back one of them will likely get pushed to summer.

Maybe we'll see some 2017 teasers at gamescom? I don't think we know anything about about their 2017 other than the obvious (Forza 7)

I think Quantum will be January and Scalebound in April. With Crackdown being early August.

I don't think so, August for Crackdown is possible but January for QB? I don't see it. They pushed it back to move out of the holiday rush, come January people are still playing all their new games for Christmas, if they're gonna release it in January I don't see the point in even pushing it back in the first place. March is the absolute earliest I can see it being released.

Anyone think Sea of Thieves might get some gameplay shown?

Or just still way too early.

Already confirmed that both ReCore and Sea of Thieves won't be shown at Gamescom.

Sea of Thieves aswell

Sea of Thieves is probably a Spring 2017 title.

there is no way they are going to launch a platinum game in the summer

Why not? It'll be just after E3 with that last final push also avoiding the holiday madness by putting it in the summer dryness.

Would be crazy if they announce another exclusive deal for the new Mass Effect.

I can't see that being likely. Waste of money too unless EA (for some reason) offered it cheap, go make something new

Isn't Twisted Pixel working on something AAA? They gonna be there?

Check back on one of the other pages (if you want to) I tweeted the head of the studio and he said "hopefully we'll have more to share soon" or something. Could mean Gamescom, could mean its not. I didn't take it to be especially encouraging for it though.

Peter Moore loves MS from what i got from his interview on ign. so idk, maybe some things that don't make sense could happen.

but yeah it wont happen, haha. Just thinking about the 360 days and pairing those games/situations with what has happened recently with MS.

I can see MS trying to position QB near UC4 if its in the spring release since they are a little similar. If it get pushed to fall then they would have gears 4 to contend with. If its summer who knows if MS will push QB back that far.

Xbox Live is going to be a nightmare with kids using that Controller... can see that constant jump shots already... ugh

It's no different than people using other pro controllers or using "the claw" method...

It won't be a big deal for casuals... And all the pro players will end up matchmaking against each other anyway...

Also, will we use this thread for all gamescon MS announcements or will there be a new thread?

I think there should be a new threads personally. Maybe also with a link to the MS presser for people who can't watch it when it airs and so don't want to be spoiled before they can watch it.

crackdown is the one i want to see most. this cloudgine intrigues me. see if it can indeed do stuff a regular local only engine can't do.

Would be crazy if they announce another exclusive deal for the new Mass Effect.

I'd say, especially after Sony's Q2 report, it will be very difficult for MS to make many more exclusive deals outside of them funding a game that may not have been made elsewhere and the dev didn't want to got the KS route ( think Chinese Room with Everyone's Gone to the Rapture for PS4). They'll have co financing deals and exclusive DLC or early access obviously, but even that is getting from them.

Makes me wonder if the deal SE made for Tomb Raider with MS will be worth it? Or if they already view that as a mistake?

Would MS announce anything new like they did with Sea of Thieves and Recore?

I think Battletoads is still rumored as an XBLA game. I don't think Phil Spencer wearing a Toads shirt at the Windows event and new character designs on the Rare Replay cover were just a set-up for the Shovel Knight DLC or Battletoads Arcade in RR.

You forgot Sea of Thieves & KI S3.

I think KI S3 will roll out towards the end of this year and finish around E3 16 time.

I think Quantum Break will be out Feb, ReCore either March or April, Forza H3 will end up slotting into that September slot, Crackdown for Oct and Gears 4 will probably be Nov.

I can't decide on when Scalebound and Sea of Thieves will arrive, if they are both set for next year; who knows what will slip into 2017.

I would love to hear that games with deep menu systems to sort through will optionally use the Elite controller's four rear buttons as additional buttons, not just replacers for A/B/X/Y.

...yeah, I know the Elite is intended to be for a more niche market. But more shortcut buttons in RPGs would be nice. Hey, I can dream, right?

It will be worth it for Microsoft, who knows what went down behind the scenes there.

Microsoft need to be building a larger portfolio of exclusives they fund, publish and own. If a third-party deal like Dead Rising 3, Titanfall or Tomb Raider presents itself to them then thats fine but they should be focusing their efforts elsewhere anyway.

They have a deal for Fallout and stuff like Rainbow 6, Fifa, Madden and The Division. Ive no doubt they won't have Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect Andromeda marketing too given the previous statuses of those two franchises, they'll have deals coming.

Any hints at PC announcements? You'd think with the recent release of W10, this would be a perfect occasion to start beating the DX12 drum and show some actual PC ports for meaningful IP.

Something will be there, but I don't believe any more ports will be announced right now.

Are you going to make it? ;) ;)

I wasn't really planning to since I have a packed weekend, but if there is no one else that wants to do it then I can probably come up with something. If there is a consensus that there should be a new thread, that is. Of course, this thread could serve as the Gamescom thread since it's already about the Microsoft presser. It's just that there are pages and pages of talk before the actual event that a new thread would get rid of.

Last year was Tomb Raider announcement. I wonder if we'll see an equally shocking announcement this year...

Quantum Break release date needs to be announced. Most anticipated game right now...bet preorders will come with Alan Wake for free via BC.
