lucky bastard, i'd love to work for gamestop I applied at least a hundred times. It's better than my..."current" job at Hewlett Packard.

With the EB/Gamestop merger going through, i am coming from the EB end of it. I am curious how much Gamestop pays its managers. Anyone?
the payscale is alot less

ASM's in my area start at 9.75 now an hr.. used to be just 10.00/hr

SGA's are 8.00 but now are 7.75

GA's are 5.15 an hr used to be 6.00 an hr

They just changed pay scale and lowered it about a few months ago in my area.

Gamestop

Pros: Checking out any game really you want, Discounts on games you cant get if you work at like Circuit City, Best buy (Cost over there is like 49.97 for a 49.99 game), Free Promo shit all the fking time.. Itll be falling from your ass pretty much

Cons: Working and literally being pressured to shove reserves/subscriptions/IPT's/Used Sales/Trade-Ins 24-7.

Oh and whoever mentioned "Your sales were up but your reserves/subs were down time to write you up" is a perfect example of what you should really focus on.. Reserves/Subscriptions and IPT's (Items Per Transaction) as well as Used Sales, and pushing Trade-In's.

I'm jealous of you GameStop employees/former employees.

Not only is my area's GameStop hiring, but they're also hiring Assistant Managers.

The sad thing about that, Is that I was recommended to be assistant manager last year when I was working for a art store.

Envy. Envy.

Bullshit. I worked at Best Buy and the discount was fucking excellent. Got ICO for $10.75 when it was $20. Got MGSTTS for $33 when it was $40. I got a $10 memory card for $1. It really was a great discount, and one of the things I miss.

If you've gotta work retail, it's better to work around something you at least have some interest in.
I work at TRU and the hours pass by a bit faster when I'm in the video game section rather than somewhere else.

So in other words, no one knows store managers salary? I potentially will be getting my own store in the next week or so, but because of the merger happening a week before it, i might lose LOTS of earning power. YAY for mergers....

I worked there for over 5 years as a 3rd key. PM me and I can talk to you about working for GameStop.

Not wanting to post anything here, in case of legal stuff.

I used to work for TRU....I didn't like the management there. In my area, they treated the employees like they were nothing. Yes. like shit.

That's just retail man. Every day you go in there you feel more and more resented.

Check Game Rush too if you have one...many of my game people are making over $7.00 starting. This is in OKC so its defienently not cost of living adjusted.

Its their corporate standard. Franchised stores can do whatever they want though. I too, work for Blockbuster.

Bleh, my last job was the best one I've ever been in.

It was an art store. My assistant manager boss was good to me, I always felt that he was very respectul towards me.
