Look im glad Nintendo finally has joined current tech and will have 3rd party titles on their system BUT 30fps is disgusting

So i've seen this game and it looks graphically insane. The map is ginormous and the detail looks incredible. I have no idea how good this game could possibly run on the switch 2 at the scale they're going for. Probably 30fps max if lucky and 720p or below with alot of features being cut out. It just looks too big and visually impressive for the switch 2 to run this competently without massive cutbacks. Good luck.

I agree with Sebastian1295. This game is way too detailed and graphically demanding for even the Switch 2.

Just from the trailers and gameplay footage alone, Crimson Desert is going to be demanding. This games will play better on a PS5 Pro and/ or high-end gaming PC.

Switch 2 is going to suffer graphical downgrades and be forced to run at unstable 30fps.

Nintendo has multiple port-making ninja studios at the ready in order to help 3rd party devs get high profile games on their system. I bet one day soon they're going to simply absorb that dev studio Shinen into another one.

I'm not sure if they used any of their teams here, but it's a possibility.

I hadn't been following this game, so I just watched a trailer and now I somehow feel like I know less about it? It felt like one of those gameplay randomizers where the genre changes every thirty seconds. Initially I was like, "Oh, it's a God of War clone" and then "Wait, I guess it's an open world action RPG" and then the dude is skydiving like it's Tears of the Kingdom and before I've processed that there's some kind of base-building terraforming shit going on and by the time he's flying around on the back of a dragon I had just given up all hope of groking what I was watching ... Looks cool though.

Thanks Wikipedia, that clears everything up.

I think it's possible to get this game running on a switch 2, but should they do it? If the cutbacks and visual features are being scaled down alot then you're going to end up with a witcher 3 on switch situation where the switch could technically run the game but it wasn't a good experience at all. And nintendo does have good port devs so i think they'll probably figure something out agreed.

Ya i think even on the ps5 and series X it'll be scaled down alot from PC. The game looks like a powerhouse and technically demanding with all the NPC'S, the scale of the map, the details etc. Just alot going on in this game and i do think it looks visually stunning honestly.

I need raytraced GI and over 60fps. I'm sure the Switch 2 will run it better than the Steam Deck and Ally X though.

If the game runs at 60fps is going to run at 30fps in the Switch 2… And looks like this game is targeting 60 on the big brothers. I don't think we are going to see too many sacrifices like The Witcher 3 on Switch other than lower input resolution.

I think it's possible to get the game on switch 2 but the cutbacks are going to be massive especially in portable mode. I will be interested to see how it runs tbh. It'll be a big first test for the switch 2 and its capabilities for sure.

Difference between console and handheld back when everybody and their mom wanted one and it was fine:

The game uses a proprietary engine called BlackSpace Engine, so… If the devs are good, they can tweak the engine for the Switch 2. But let's see what happens.

It's not gonna happen, people are getting carried away like they did with GTA6 (how did that go?)

If I were a dev who was looking to provide millions of brand new casual Switch 2 users with the 'Witcher 3' of it's generation (and within the launch year like W3), I would do anything I could to get it ported to that system for tons of sales. Best experience or not.

Edit, made a mistake:
Witcher 3 on Switch launched in 2020, it was years after the Switch launch
L LakeOf9 is right. Regardless, if you ask CDPR if the port was worth it for that massive audience, they would say yes.

The Switch version of Witcher 3 was the second highest selling console version (in spite of launching 5 years later). While that version is obviously the worst way to play the game, it doesn't look like the broader public gives a shit, they just want to play the game on the system they like. Switch 2 being equipped with reasonably modern hardware and capabilities such as an SSD, DLSS, and more RAM than a Series S, does mean that any downports to it should, at the bare minimum, look better than downpours to Switch did (which often felt like last gen ports of current gen games).

Which isn't to say it wouldn't still be the worst looking version of the game if it did happen, but the differences wouldn't be as massive.

All this said, I still have zero expectation that this game (or GTA6, or MH Wilds) is ported to Switch 2.

Ya we're going to see alot of devs just spam crap on the switch 2 and not care if it runs good or not. They wanna take advantage of the hype and make money anyway they can.

Remember a few weeks ago when GTA6 second trailer blew everyone away and was said to be running on a base PS5? With that in mind, we didn't even know what PS5 was capable of until 5 years in. How is everyone so sure they know the capabilities of switch 2? Knowing the hardware specs isn't really enough. It's going to take time to optimize for this new console. With DLSS and other AI capabilities, it's getting harder to estimate capabilities based on specs alone as well.

Totally agree, people here tend to forget that we are seeing the first wave of The Switch 2 games and the big games are open world games with good results.

Their both at like 15fps. Doesn't show the real difference

We all know the difference between 30 and 60.

It is smaller than the difference between the Game Boy and Super Nintendo screenshots. Unless you think this would change with more accurate evidence.

dlss year upgrade more ram and cores come for devs farmiboard rumer its true its all true my friends

Most people that will buy a Switch 2, don't even know what's frame rate, so why not? I'd release GTA6 on it as well, and if it runs at 22fps on average, that's fine.

Except you need to realize that, while the base PS5 can handle the graphics shown in the latest GTA VI trailer as of this writing, it was, however, backed by:

1. A custom-made engine that Rockstar has created and improved upon over the years.
2. Over a billion-dollar budget.
3. Thousands of employees working for years to optimize the game to the utmost hardest

Considering the Switch 2 is limited by storage and inferior specs to the PS5, we'll have to see over the years what the Switch 2 can bring.

Nintendo haters are going to have a bad time with the Switch 2 😅😅
I'm loving it. I come into threads like these to read the exact same NPC replies, every single time. It cracks me up.

What im really waiting for, is when some of these big 3rd party games, Nintendo systems don't usually get, turn out to sell more then other versions.

Its gonna happen. Then we'll see proper fireworks.

They are going to say that the game is shit 🤷‍♂️
