Anyone know a site that sells some nice PC's for gaming. Stuff that run Half Life 2 and other games good? I don't really know what and where to buy... I kinda always just owned macs but I need my pc gaming fix :|

Thanks

Get a friend to build it or get it custom made at a local mom 'n pop shop. 'Premium' places like Alienware, Falcon-NW or Voodoo are ridiculously overpriced.

Buy from a big name vendor. Then your guaranteed to have support. Dell isn't going out of business anytime soon. Trust me, I've gotten burned first hand - this is advice from experience.

Don't go with some little outfit. Alienware is nice, but REALLY expensive. Price things out, compare and make a decision.

You could actually do better if you could build it yourself. It's not hard.

I had to wait a month to get my PC from Monarch, but they only charge $50 for building as well as burning and limited customer support. Their prices on parts are low too.

Buy a Gateway with a Pentium 4 for 700 bucks. Make sure it has PCI-E architecture.

Throw in a x800 and 512 more ram.

Total cost - Less than 1000 bucks

Put it on a Best Buy credit card that has zero interest and 12 month payoff time.

Hmm... I was thinking of something similar... Are gateways reliable though?
