Excuse me for the random bump, but I just finished episode 5 and I think I've just witnessed the best actions scenes EVER in a TV show. HOLY SHIT. Why isn't this show better known?

Never heard of it before, but the trailer made me laugh. There aren't any white British gangs that I know of in London that operate like the gangs presented in the clip. If they do exist, they certainly don't go around engaging in blade fights and dropping people from tall buildings.

First episode was mostly setup of various factions, a little slow, but great action set piece to wrap it up. Looks like watching the rest requires an AMC+ sub in the States though. Free trial at least.

This show was fucking incredible and has some of the best shot action that I've ever seen - unsurprisingly given Evans' past work.
Outside of the action I was actually pretty invested in the plot as well although I was really let down by the ending and it is definitely not the sort of show that you should expect any semblance of realism from. Just enjoy the melodrama and the awesome action scenes.

It's crazy to think that this game is very very very loosely based on a PS Vita game released in 2006, which itself was a spin-off in The Getaway series of games (the much hyped 'GTA killer' series that was released on PS2).

I guess that technically makes this a computer game adaptation! Arguably the best live action videogamemovie/show adaptation of all time lol

what!? This is crazy, I didn't know it was based on a PSP game.

Amazing show, really enjoyed it. Brutal. Some ridiculous scenes towards the end, and hilarious how massacres of tens of people barely raise the eyebrow in London, where robbery now makes it to Evening Standard.

Gets off to a strong start as the first pub brawl is in my local. The old blond haired hag behind the till actually really works there, she and the rest of the staff are rude af and the pub smells constantly damp, probably of spilled beer.

It's the Horseshoe on Clerkenwell Close, which is I guess makes the show a depiction of the Clerkenwell Crime Syndicate.

So I got a copy of jiu jitsu last night and had to watch. So I will start watching this tonight as it does look awesome.

Yeah, I mean I don't think it really takes much from the game other than the basic premise and name but it's cool that it's technically an adaptation of a PlayStation game.

Personally I think it'd be awesome if the success of this series led to a new Getaway game. I know the old ones were a bit shit but if they did it well I'd be well up for a new Getaway game with awesome combat inspired by this series.

A game set in this universe done properly would be so good.

Holy Shit I watched the first episode. The fights are pretty legit. That last fight with the butcher type knife. The black guy had some sick and brutal fights. Everyone should be watching this after you finish Yellow Stone.

Watching ep 2 (ep 1 part 2 apparently, but not marked that way on Amazon) now. Everyone knows you have to kite The Butcher with range attacks, Elliot!

Elliot is quickly establishing himself as Black Kazuma Kiryu though. Total badass.

Elliot is such a damn bad ass.

You get on that boat, son. Get on that boat.

This show is insane, probably the best action sequences ever in a TV series. Gareth Evans is the man.

This show is making me look away at the gruesomeness. Wtf episode 5 was so damn brutal. They the wrist scene in episode 6. Omg. I can't look away! I thought at first only Elliot scenes would make the show but it's just so many great scenes that will haunt my mind.

I really like this show.

Gangs of London Season 2, Takes it up 10 notches and gives no shits how it does it.

Fantastic show, breathe of fresh air without enforced bs. Great cast and story continues. After so many shows this still remains my top favorite.

Do you mind me asking why you still go there if the staff are awful?

Suppose it's preference. Over in Ireland there's atmosphere in spades but I won't hand over money to rude eejits.
There's a bar in Belfast where the barman/owner is a notoriously rude cunt, now I've never had any grief from him but I did once see a couple of yank tourists come in and order 2 cokes and he told them to fuck off and get out lol they where in total shock, not wanting them to leave the city with a negative view as they where probably off one of the cruise ships I followed them out and explained the whole deal with the bar and pointed them to a more authentic Irish pub bar that they'd love

Check out the 1 star reviews lol

Tried watching season 2 a while back but there was none of the action that made the first season iconic, mostly soap opera drama, and apparently Gareth Evans left as showrunner/director after s1.

I have this in my watchlist after all the rave reviews but the 3rd season is meant to be utterly awful, does the story from the 1st season carry over into the 2nd or can you one and done S1 and forget about it?

Just watch season 1 and be done. Gareth Evans made the show what it was. Looks like he left after that to sign a deal with Netflix.

It used to be close to our office and we all were sort of fascinated by the hostility.

But eventually we did move to Sutton Arms, where you can also experience grumpy owners, but also excellent craft beer and a well kept pub. Quite likely the finest remaining free house in London.

Next to the Slaughtered Lamb? Both good pubs
