Garbage rapper Danny Brown says he's the GOAT, + his top 5

Top 5 killing it here and now: Combined efforts of El-P and Killer Mike including RTJ, K.R.I.T., Kendrick, clipping, and Billy Woods (which includes Armand Hammer). No order.

Lot of people who could have made this list if they didn't fart out a mediocre album after a stellar one (Schoolboy Q, Shabazz Palaces, A$AP Rocky)

Danny hovers around 5-6 because part 2 of Old is really not that great. XXX is potential classic status, I can listen to that album forever. And when I spin it up, I have an obligation to hear it through without stops.

My list is carefully crafted based on lyrics and hunger to be the best. These guys really rap and flaunt their bravado. You got guys who saying a million words, but no substance or desire to be the best.


I can say common, talib etc and other rappers.. but they never wanted to be the best at this rap game.

Favorite track from XXX: Monopoly
To me that track is what defines DB. Love his mixed vocal range through the track, the lyrical flow, the content, the beat. Everything about that track is great (IMO).
Top 5 though:
Kanye, Kendrick, RTJ (as a combined effort) Freddie Gibbs (doesn't get enough love), and DB of course (he can rebound from Old, just based on his work with Rustie).

Every rapper believes they are the GOAT, that's like par for the course. Almost required, even. I don't care about his top 5, dude is high as fuck. But you guys should listen to the whole podcast, it's pretty hilarious.

Earl deserves it, but I thought Danny didn't fuck with Odd Future. I guess he just doesn't like Tyler. He's said multiple times before that Tyler sucks.

My man! Tho tupac and (new)Eminem are overrated IMO.

Maybe not GOAT, but he's definitely one of the best out there right now.
