I don't really use social networking sites and since everyone I know is on Facebook I'm going to opt-out of Google+ so fast. :|

I'd love for Facebook to stop changing privacy settings willy-nilly meanwhile, but that's neither here nor there.

It wasnt really a question to any particular member, just a suggestion. Kinda forming a GayGAF group on FB to mainly offer each other support during bad and good times. Making connections. Showing off pics, chatting about daily stuff. Some of us have been out for along time, others for a short time, and some not at all so we could offer each other advice on relationships, friendships, school, work, fashion, entertainment.

But I guess it would be redundant (and maybe a little forward) since this thread exists anyways. It was an attempt to lighten the mood in here I guess.

I still wanna know how Replicant looks like in real life ;-)

edit: I dont know how many of you actually play video games, but I dont have many gay friends who do.

There is a skype group that Sai and a few others had. But I don't use skype, so I didn't use it. I think there is other outside GAF ones as well. But I'm not up on that.

I do, but my 360 is dead, jumped to PS3. That died, so I'm jumping to PC... eventually... if I ever get a job. >_>

Uh, its a dating site. Kinda assumed that you might be meeting a few guys. Id meet up with all four, (not at the same time) and see who you click with most. You dont need to tell them though what our doing incase you dont want to be rude. And then, I would date one, for a while before even considering a relationship of any kind.

Well, how much Japanese do you speak? I haven't ventured out very much, but speaking the language may help.

(But, yes, not speaking Japanese gives them no excuse for being unfriendly to foreigners.)

Post new pics 2011-thread, though it was weeks ago and searching sucks in GAF is a hazzle.

SpaceBridge and Replicant also make me consider moving. XD
Unlike Replicant though, I'm a Quasimodo..a slim one; and have the legions of people that've screamed it at me too; so ..oh well. Maybe when I finally move out, someone's going to find me "decent/average looking" in there. And I'll finally be able to talk about a relationship in here. :p

I'm in the same situation as you having just started using online dating recently. I've just been meeting guys who seemed interesting to see if there is a 'spark' there, although I suppose you do run the risk of leading guys on. A guy I had met a few times for coffee texted me yesterday to formally go out on a date, and I had to be honest and say that I just wanted to be friends. Initially he didn't take it well but a few hours later he texted me to say thank you for my honesty and asking if I wanted to go out with him and his mates at the weekend. So I think it worked out well in the end.

So my advice would be meet them all but be honest. If they can't appreciate your honesty then maybe they're not worth your time anyway. And if they can appreciate that you're just not into them in that way, well then maybe you just made a new friend :). Win-win situation to me.

Precisely! Storytime never gets old.

Civ would be great too, though you'll have to put up with my torturous load-times (one of a few reasons why my enduring Steam nickname is Slowtolf :P). Ben and Jeffrey play the game too, though it might be a small nightmare to coordinate a game for all four of us, given the time zones.

Edit: But for now, up way too late and need to sleep. Tweaked my neck or something, had a constant headache yesterday that reminded me of sleep deprivation, took a nap to take some of the edge off. Screwed up sleep continues, yay.

Whoa. You sound like me. I'm ignored by every guy as well. While I'm not overweight, I'm not a twink either. Being 34 doesn't help matters either. It's all about young / slim these days, if you are neither you're fucked. I might as well turn straight I guess. I haven't had a date in like 6 years. I've tried all the dating sites. Why do I have to find all the shallow guys?

Are there any guys out there that doesn't give 2 shits about looks and wants a Long Term Relationship? I'm thinking no. :( I know it might seem like I'm bitching a lot, but I did try the positive thing there for a awhile. I got the same results. So I might as well be bitter. :)

Well I've certainly been doing well meeting new people.

I made a new friend on OkCupid (the guy I mentioned in my previous post whom I had to turn down). He volunteers at the city's LGBT youth program and he's been to Nepal - he climbed to one of the base camps on Everest! He is an all around cute interesting guy. We just clicked more as friends for me and I'm glad that after the initial hiccup that it seems we'll still be able to hang out and grab a coffee and stuff.

I don't know if I'll see hot lawyer anymore - it was only a casual thing really and I think it might have run it's course, at least in terms of the sexytime. I'd definitely like to be friends with him, even if he is an evil corporate lawyer XD. He still seems interested (The other day he sent me a picture of his tummy to illustrate the progress he's been making on his new diet :f), but I know things wouldn't go anywhere so it's probably best to end it whilst we're ahead.

Which works out well because I met this other guy through Grindr, Google guy, and we've been on a few dates. He brought me to the Google EU HQ for lunch, it was absolutely fantastic, I did my best to make a good impression on his colleagues and eat as much free ice cream as I could. He even brought me up to the top floor to see the incredible view of the city (it's the tallest office block in Dublin). We've been for few drinks and for dinner, and we chat online a lot.

He's a strange creature that one, very shy, and he told me that he's not very interested in sex (as in, asexual/demisexual). I went to his place over the weekend to watch a few movies; we watched the very hilarious Sleepaway Camp (I highly recommend it) and the first half of Source Code. We cuddled a little bit (no kissing though) and he asked me to stay the night but I refused as I didn't have any of my things.

Sooo, last night I went over to see him again, and we went for a walk all around the docklands area where he lives (as the sun was settting :3) and then we went back to his place again to watch the rest of the movie. We cuddled a lot more, and then we made out... for ages. It was pretty awesome, although I was worried about pressuring him or something if he's asexual. I uh... let's just say I could tell I got a positive reaction out of him. I've never been with a guy like that before, it's like being a teenager again and having to take things very slow. We had to be quiet too as his roomie doesn't know about me, but I don't know how successful I was at curtailing things, hehe. He told me some very nice things about my body and stuff, which I wasn't expecting due to his nature. He doesn't have a very high opinion of his fellow men either, which I can understand, and I think he thought I was going to be really frustrated or something - but I'm perfectly happy making out for now. I'm not going to rush him, and I told him that if he wants to go back to just being friends that I'll understand.

I'll tell you an observation that I think is kind of funny. I'm by no means a tall or broad guy, I'm perfectly average in height and build I think, and in general I like taller broader guys. So you would think that these taller broader guys would be the 'dominant protectors' etc as one looks at us walking down the street together. But what seems to happen is that they end up being gentle giants :P. Google guy is built like a brick shithouse, he's 6'6" and towers over my 5'8" frame. And yet he cuddles into me and I'm the one 'in charge' as it were. When we were making out and he was holding my sides he made me feel really small though, hehe.

I've also have some weird things happen to me on Grindr. Like this older guy, quite unattractive, was propositioning me for 'fun', replete with lewd pictures (and one picture of a pile of bills). The guy must send that to every guy on there and see who bites. Simply repulsive.

So yeah, hope that was an interesting storytime :P.

(Note: Please someone let me know if what I have written is against the new TOS. I've tried to keep things 'PG13' as it were. It's my first time writing a post like this since the new TOS came into effect. I will edit promptly if needs be).

Perhaps sometime at the weekend would work out best? I can totally play in the evening times here though, which would be lunchtime or so for you and Jeffrey I think but early morning for Ben.

Hope you feel better Boto and too bad I couldn't get my story time up in time for it to count as bedtime reading. :P
