I'm a bit lost at gay clubs as well because I'm the worst human being in the universe at picking up signals. I probably wouldn't notice anything even if there was guy dancing and screaming "I LOVE YOUUU" in front of me.

I guess we are in the same boat. :(

I wish guys would make the first move on me......or i need a guide or instructions to pick up Asian guys.

Yeah, limiting yourself to such a small niche is never a good idea. I mean, everybody have their tastes and fetishes and all that but if you aim broader, there's a higher chance to find a nice guy even if he doesn't initially fit in your "ideal man" traits. For example, I'm a sucker for muscle-bear types but in the end, all of the relationships I ended up in didn't involve one (aside for a pair of fuck-buddies).

What kind of Asian guys are around where you live?

Also, it's usually okay to wait for someone to make the first move, especially in your stage right now, but any older homo (middle age+) will just bluntly tell you to snap out of it while you're still young. <3

Growing up and going to gay groups and stuff I've encountered gay guys that basically wanted one type of guy and always got that guy. Why should I have to change? I've met White guys who only want Black guys, Asian and Black guys that only want White guys, Latino guys that only want Black guys and I wonder if anyone asked them if they were limiting themselves. When I question it, they tell me I don't know or something physical they like or something else.

on a side note, I've noticed the guys that have had any interest in me were all White guys, even the guy from Ohio at the club. Just an observation.

Living in Boston and for me it is probably the worse place for being gay for me.

Seriously, gay clubs suck. Same sceney twink clones, excessive covers, same endless house remixes of Top 40 hits played at a conversation-deterring volume. Ugh. NYC, DC, Montreal, Salt Lake City... they're all interchangeable.

While I don't go out much I prefer gay clubs since it's less awkward if you get a drink from someone you don't find to be your type.
 
Gay bars for me. Clubs (at least in Spain) are usually full of queens so you won't hook up unless you're hot and/or young, the alcohol quality goes from dubious to probably-burning-alcohol and half of the people is drugged up to death (who wants a boner when you're going to reject everybody but Mister Universe, lol). Bars are much cheaper too.
 
Meh, around here gay clubs and bars; is like going to Manhunt or Adam4Adam...but in real-life.

But the music's nice. Haven't been to one in a few years, so maybe thing's have changed.
 
For most of my life I've been an introvert, but this is the year where I try to change. I'm looking for boyfriend or at the very least some gay friends.

This is a stupid question, but does anyone know of some good gay hangouts in NYC?
 
Haha yeah, a lot of the times I think "I have seen like 70% of these guys in BearWWW and could probably tell even the nickname for half of them". It's not bad though, people are sometimes more aproachable in real life.

Yeah, people heading to bars will be disappointed. It's usually the same people that are on online dating sites.

Not a remotely stupid question. My favorites are the gay bars in the East Village, which are generally more laid-back and less stereotypically sceney than those in Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen: Nowhere, Phoenix, and Boiler Room ($3.75 well drinks from 10 PM to 4 AM are hard to beat). I can recommend a few in other neighborhoods as well, though.

So basically you're low self esteem comes from your looks? Have you thought about plastic surgery? It did wonders for me. (well maybe not for the looks but the self esteem part)

When I was younger I hit a tree while skiing. So I had a big crooked lebanese nose and misplaced teeth for years. I basically had my teeth/nose/chin redone and starting training afterwards to get a great body.

For those who see plastic surgery as an extreme solution to low self esteem; if you don't like your looks there is no therapy that will make it better. After I had it done I got many promotions at work (probably coming from the higher self esteem), got invitations to parties etc.

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong or even particularly vain about getting cosmetic surgery done - within reason, of course. There's an obvious difference between turning yourself into an immovable plastic doll and having things about yourself corrected that otherwise are a source of embarrassment or excessive self consciousness.

There are at least five things about my face or head that I've wished I could get fixed for years and years, but this stuff is way outside my realm of affordability and always will be, so I put up with it and try to be thankful that I don't have any actual disfigurements.
