Different kind of relationship post. I'm a straight female and I just wanted to pop in and say that gay men make so much better friends to a girl than other girls for the most part. At least that's been my experience. It's heartbreaking that so many of the people I'm close to are denied happiness because of family and societal ignorance and bigotry.

Granted there are gay people of all types. I'm sure there are plenty of gay people who are total jerks just like there are with any group of people. The average is waaaaay in your favor though. I've made it a point to not associate myself with anyone who treats LGBT people poorly simply for their orientation. Fuck them.

If only the guys at my work would stop subversively hitting on my boyfriend when he comes to visit me. I know I found a good one because he's always flattered, never offended or uncomfortable. Dat security.

Nah I'm for sure that this guy doesn't want to mess around with me. I told him almost my life story, how I'm really shy, and he wants to make the effort to help me and shit. Which is awesome because I could always use more friends, especially gay ones that I can talk about my feelings with.

He was like "you're really cute you just have to try and stop being so negative and not give a fuck what other people think about you."

He is studying massage and he was like I could use you for practice. I was like, that would be great I need a massage so bad (seriously my neck and back are killing me lately).

But yeah I'm happy that I can just go to a person to rely on with anything and he'll try to help me out as best as possible.

Just be explicit when you meet up that you don't want to do anything sexual.
 
I can't wait to turn 30 (7 months!).
But mostly, because people say I look young. So I want to see the look on their faces, when they're like ":O!! you're 30?!!"...I still get carded for R-rated movies, M-rated games and clubs...

Unless I start looking older in this 7 months... :( ... :p

Could be me, but it sounds like you're being very naive. I know how that massage will end up.

I think I would know if he had intentions for me. He just wants to be my friend thankfully. He has a fuck buddy right now who is being really clingy to him though. I told him you should just break it off with him before he gets too attached to you because you could just be leading him on. (and he was like, whoooaaa you aren't so innocent lol)

He wants to go shopping for clothes and stuff with me. Definitely a fun person to hang out with I think. I really talked to him about everything and he was trying to reassure me and everything like a good friend would do which is what I need. I just need someone I can just be friends and place trust in. Also we probably aren't hanging out after all because he wants to go to San Antonio because he got a second job and won't be able to really go out anymore for a while.
 
Kids I wasn't fishing for compliment. Seems like Marius was the only one who remembered that discussion about gray hair.

Well, I sincerely hope you're right about this guy. He sounds like he could be a good friend, but if you hear music and see a bearskin rug at his place this weekend, you know what's about to go down. ;-)

No, but seriously though. MAKE IT CLEAR! So if he tries something, it won't get awkward at the office.

He posted pics on his facebook that anyone who he is friends with can see, the ones that I was talking about earlier. I don't know why I always send people my pics, I feel like I'm asking for critique or for validation that I'm not as ugly as I think I am.

I don't think I've ever talked to someone so much about how I feel and everything and have them reassure me that I'm normal and stuff.

Okay for some reason that just sounded really gay to me. XD Also, I know things would get weird since we work together so I won't let anything happen unless I want it to happen, you know what I mean?
