Does anyone know if and when I can get one of these bad boys? I asked the clerk at Yodobashi and he was like "Buh? Dur hur hur. What? Game Boy? Backlight? It's already backlit!" and I'm like "No, backlit like the DS" and he's like "Yes, the DS is backlit too!" and I'm like "BYE".

No... store clerks are totally useless here though :D
ddsanrokumaru was asking the same q only last week actually.
Buy a Micro!

I'm surprised it's not out there already. There's even a TRU exlusive Spongebob Squarepants new model SP out already!

Gosh, the SP+ is the best thing to happen to the GBA line. Games look SO GOOD on it. They really need to come out with it in JP too.

As if. My eyes suck and I want something that will fit into my pocket without the screen getting fucked up.

I believe that the faceplate covers the screen. If anything, it will get fucked up, not your screen.

Can anyone confirm a US online retailer that is selling the GBA SP+ online. I'm thinking I'll just but it, have it shipped to my house in the US, and have it mailed to me here in Japan...

Okay. Now you can pay for eye surgery that will make me able to read text that is 1/100th of an inch high on a screen the size of a postage stamp.

SCREW YOU AND YOUR MICRO. SP MARK II ALL THA WAY BIOTCH

The SP+ is so amazing that it's worth holding out for. I put Mario Kart GBA in there last night and was like :-O because I never realized just how colorful that game could be. Seriously, with that awesome new screen, the games simply don't seem as out of date as GBA games were starting to.

Kuru Kururin Paradise, Metroid and Castlevania prompted a similar response. You simply have no idea how vibrant those games are until you see them lit up properly.

Famicom Mini SMB had a little red bleeding though.

I guess a Micro has the same effect, but that screen's too small for its own good.

I've used GBAPlayer plenty of times too, but that mostly brings out the games' lo-res flaws.

YA RLY. I pulled out my GBA SP tonight after 1 year of playing exclusively on PSP and DS, and I was like "JESUS CHRIST THIS IS THE SHITTIEST FUCKING SCREEN IN THE GOD DAMN UNIVERSE." Stupid Japan and their not getting SP+ :(

So its not just an American thing then?

The funny part is many big electronics companies: Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, etc send their new hires (guys hired right out of college) to bigger stores to work exclusively in their companies section yet since they're newbies with the same crap training normal clerks get they're usually just as useless.

If you go shopping in a Japanese store you should know whatyou want because the staff, while giving the appearence of being helpful and polite, will just give you a slightly rearranged stock answer to any "abnormal" question (anything other than where is "X" item) you may ask them.
