Switch 2 In-Stock and READILY Available

Hum...PS5 is 40% down from the month they released the PS5 Pro.
Nintendo is down 10% for the same month and this is counting Switch 1 and Switch 2 (a newly released console) vs last year when they had 8 year old Switch only lol.

It's even more tragic for Nintendo.

Spin it however you want, a 40% drop is massive. The whole console industry had a terrible month and will probably get worse as prices inevitably go up and the economy continues to get worse. 👍

Going to post this again.

"Circana's data shows that even Nintendo, which launched the seemingly red-hot Switch 2 in June, went on to sell fewer Switch 1s and Switch 2s (combined) this November than they sold Switch 1s last November."

These aren't my thoughts, this is what the numbers tell us.
My point is this has nothing to do with whether they are available at retail stores. They've been readily available essentially since launch. It's not like they've been difficult to find and then suddenly they have a bad month (huge number of economic factors here) and are now on shelves everywhere. They've always been there. A 10% dip in sales over this time last year isn't going to change that fact, and it doesn't mean the Switch 2 is somehow doomed.

One factor that I've personally seen loads of time in my area: the availability of used Switch 1 consoles that people are offloading after buying the Switch 2 at Black Friday. My local facebook marketplace is absolutely flooded with these things, even the OLED models are going for $100-$150. In the current economic climate, that translates to people buying these as Christmas gifts instead of trying to put a $500 new console on credit.

The Switch 2's momentum is fading though.

It started off hot, but the sales data is showing strong signs of slow down.

During the biggest spending period of this year, the Switch 1 and Switch 2 combined sold less than the Switch 1 last year.

Be honest with yourself... SW2 is a excelent, EXCELENT system for what its worth... but as today, outside gaming bubbles and Nintendo BIG fans... there is no reason to buy one TODAY that it cannot wait for TOMORROW. Plain and simple. (and i have one, so its not famewar or something among these stupidities).

>checks OP post history
>half of the posts are hating on the Switch 2
>the other half is hating on the freaking N64
Gotta respect that, almost 30 years of being a Nintendo hater.

thats a ridiculous argument that can be said for anything. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Hey, at least they got Switch 2, they don't have any Xbox and in fact when you search for Xbox it brings a PlayStation 5 as result.
Wait, let me rephrase that: They sold out of Xbox Series S/X, it must be their best Christmas season ever!

No.
- Nintendo 64, had Super Mario 64, one hell of a 'I need to play this, now!' game.
- Wii had WiiSports, the absolute best way to sell its controls, bar none.
- Switch had BOTW, I cannot find a better example of 'i can play THIS in my home and in a portable way ?!'
SW2 had ZERO games that a normal person (lets exclude gaming bubbles and zealots) will see and tell him/herself 'I need to play this!'. MKW COULD be this game, but had a rough launch, if we are being honest.

Meanwhile ps5 is down 40% YoY

It is different.

One is a five year old console which if compared to a few months ago is not really much cheaper at all with the discounts.

Whilst the other is a brand new console coming off one of the best selling console.

Ps5 didn't do great but those other two were abysmal.

That's your first mistake. Around here you're supposed to make predictions purely based on feelings. Consoles will be with us forever and physical media is likely to see a huge boom soon. Sell your AI investments and put it into blu-ray stocks. Young people have never been more interested in closed ecosystems. The future is bright.

I feel bad for anyone that doesn't have a Micro Center nearby, especially if you're into PC gaming/PCs in general. Awesome store.

A couple of weeks ago I was bored and did a search and saw they were all over the place. I was tempted for a second, but then I realized there just weren't enough games for me to bite the bullet, lol. Not yet.

Don't know anything about all that but in Sweden for some reason the MKW bundle is 1 dollar cheaper than the stand alone console (it did also thankfully go down in price by almost 200 dollars since launch - but in Sweden it launched overpriced as hell)

Ignoring all the idiots trying to argue over their favorite plastic boxes and BennyBlanco BennyBlanco trying to deflect heat off of Xbox

If you want a Switch 2 and have a Microcenter near you this is obviously one of the better deals you are going to get because who knows what happens going forward with everything happening.
My girl just got a big bonus at work and I'm trying to convince her to grab one now while she can as we are sharing mine. Plus I know when the Animal Crossing update comes out next month I'm not gonna see my Switch and was really hoping to take it to Japan with me on the 19th but was gonna leave it at home so she can play the SW2 version instead of the SW version..

WHO is trying to deflect heat off Xbox? 😂🫵

Been plentiful in stock for months from what I've seen, well, outside of Japan of course.

There seems to be some cognitive dissonance between seeing it available and simultaneously selling extremely well.
Well, Nintendo's CEO himself said that they delayed the launch to ensure that there's enough stock. Seems like he wasn't bullshitting.

You really think that Zelda is bigger than Mario Kart?

Yeah, they've done a fantastic job. Just thinking about the amount of scalper who got screwed over during the Switch 2 launch puts a smile on my face.

November was abysmal for the whole industry…. The worst in 25 years…
Yeah, and what makes it even worse is this occured on the launch year of the successor to the second highest selling console of all-time.

You would think demand would be higher, with the Switch 2 pulling most of the weight.

Guess not

Nah I'm in Chicagoland :)
I live in DC area, also got 2 around here. It's a great store.

Edit: Selling under 500K consoles in US during its launch year is terrible. Not that PS5 is doing amazingly well with 750k, but it's going into 6th year on the market at least.

Economy sucks, so discounts make sense (both for Switch and PS5). Plus there are so many other things to pull attention off games.

Lol Jesus fucking Christ. I just can't wrap my head around someone spending so much time wishing for something to fail. God damn just go enjoy what you actually do like.

Some people are just hard up to hate on Switch 2. It's called S2DS

It's not about hating anything, why hate the Switch 2?

It's about informing people on how the Switch 2 is going to likely end up in a 3DS scenario.

Follow up to a hugely successful console (DS) that ends up selling around half, despite everything.

Switch 1 had the benefit of being really the only thing of it's kind, it doesn't enjoy that luxury anymore.

I thought it was in healthy stock everywhere.. I ordered mine from Amazon when they dropped the price on the MK world bundle..
was waiting for it to come in, went to Walmart to get an MicroSD Express card for it and found they had like 10 of the same bundle at the same price..
since mine was in route I just had to wait for it to arrive.

There are a million things fighting for the attention of people.

Social media, free to play games, movies, etc.

Those are all things Nintendo is competing with when trying to sell the Switch 2.

😂
