Gears Ultimate Beta Access

dont have access to the beta but i look forward to buying this game in august...

Gears of War is the only series i really, truely had fun playing online.....shotgun battles, frag tags, boom shots, cheap chainsaw kills, and tea bagging downed opponents.....i am ready to go home again...
 
Can anyone PM me a spare code? I hate to ask, but I signed up right after the microsoft conference and I still haven't received one, on two email accounts too!

Feel like this should be quoted again for a new page. There's a reason why you haven't received a code if you signed up for the beta through the website. Sucks, but hopefully it'll get fixed quickly.

Didn't see this before. Hopefully us unlucky ones get our codes sooner rather than later.
 
Apparently this was another way to get a code (I'm guessing the first wave of people was this way). I did all those criteria and didn't get a code, but did register on the site. Strange...

Having played Gears 1, 2, 3, and Judgment AND logged into an Xbox One ALL ON THE SAME GAMERTAG before April 2015. In addition, your account must be in good standing. If you haven't received this code by now, one of those requirements may not have been fulfilled -- and you should sign up through GearsofWar.com.

unable to play still, I downloaded the beta using the second code, the first says I used it already and it says I am not authorized to play. Excellent.
 
Time for me to hit the bed. Already too late. Its 85% done downloading. Will play tomorrow.
 
Oh that's why they sent me another code 10 minutes ago. Who the hell made it so complicated that we need a download code and an access. Why not just have a code for downloading and access?

That SMITE beta was only one code and pretty much all other xbox betas I have come across. Anyone else ever seen this?

I haven't and it appears if you do them in the incorrect order it locks you out from playing which is ridiculous.

fail on not clarifying that directly in the conference, or on the message.

I mean I got my code really quickly right after the conference like a lot of others, and the way its worded it sounds like you can just go input it and play right away.

I deleted and redownloaded the file... none of the codes work so if this doesn't I have no idea how to proceed.
 
Just played for an hour, and as someone who played Gears 1, Gears 2, and the hell out of Gears 3...... W.T.F? :( I'm very disappointed. I know it's a beta and what not, but with three really good games out already, don't they serve as some sort of foundation? This feels like a beta's beta. It's so slow and unresponsive. Someone please tell me I'm not alone?

Well I put in the first code which allowed me to actually download the damn thing, then proceeded to put in the second code I got which was a "Beta Pass" and acts as DLC for the beta so it's one of those add-ons in the menu. Which is damn weird.

Now the thing is just saying installing without proceeding to download. Which is odd.

Eh why can't it be like the Halo 5 beta, that just worked.

EDIT: I got that 1%, but its on the internal drive so it may take forever...
 
So, do people just get an access code delivered to their xbox mail box or do we have to sign up for the beta in the gears page? Every time I try to access it on my phone the page fails to load.
 
It's easy to forget that Gears of War came out almost a decade ago.

I got put into a map on Gridlock and my brain immediately kicked into "oh fuck gotta control sniper, oh fuck gotta control rocket".

Except seemingly no one else cared, so the entire match was me rocketing the enemy team.
 
I like it but there are few things that could be better.
Shotgun range is too long and there is that unnecessary delay after peak around the corner. It wasn't like that in Gears 1 so I don't really understand why they added it.
shot after rodie run is probably too much to ask.

You have to sign up. Then, the download codes/access codes get sent to your Xbox messages.
 
I got a total of four codes.

Two duplicate download codes, one access code and then what seems like another download code. What the hell is this? They need to get their shit together.

I'm already playing the beta. I got a spare code but not sure if it will even work without the access code or if I will get it. Such a cluster fuck. They should have just done one code or put this bitch on the marketplace and called it a day.
 
Played it and destroyed pretty much everyone for about half an hour. Its awesome. I think they're gonna remove actives. There's talks on the forums. I think they should remove actives, it'll get rid of some one shot downs.
