Just saw em on the ignboard but no source. Could be fake.

4.0 6.0 5.5

Can anyone confirm? Not that I expected anything great from this game.

SHOCKING

seriously who expected this game to be good?

Johnny Nighttrain speculated this could be one of those under the radar games which could come out firing with good review scores ala Eternal Darkness. :)

well, i mean if this was a game people actually wanted to play...
No, but it's a game people love to hate. Usually this was tempered by the fact that nobody really knew what scores it would get, but now... man.

Anticipation / 1000

That guy needs to learn to restrain his fanboy spirit. :lol

those scores are true...because I was one of them.

What would be hilarious is after getting rid of Rare and Silicon Knights and cut off ties with Factor 5, Nintendo would maintain their ties with this company..... :lol

Well... EGM rates Nanostray 5ish, but IGN rates it 8. So, if EGM rates Geist 5ish too, IGN might rate it 8 as well.

Keep the faith!

haha and KobunHeat always had nice things to say about it

What I played was pretty fun, actually.

Geist -- last year's E3 version -- was decent. From what was shown, it seemed as if the best it could aspire to was a low 8.

Based on what I played (and it's as much as anybody has played right now) I'm sticking to my guns that Geist will not be at all "bad." Whether it will be excellent or just garden-variety "good" is the only real question.

and this thread where him. Meijalan (the Geist supporters) and Amir0x battle it out over Geist is priceless now in retrospect :p

Well, based on the information I had at the time, that was a valid conclusion to draw. But good demos don't always equal a solid final product (I think there's a recent case in point with the initials GSH floating around the forums too...)

Oh give me a break. Three full points below the next-lowest score?
Differing opinions......what a shock! What's the point of even having three scores to begin with if all you want to see are three essentially same scores?

there goes the theory of Nintendo turning everything to gold. It was delayed like what? 3 times?

I actually believed they might do a MP with Geist

I'm sure they will cut the company off immediately after less than stellar sales of Geist.

I've spoken with people over at Retro Studios, and none of them credit Nintendo or Miyamoto with turning MP around. That was all PR bullshit. Retro had its act together at some point, and they were able to make a stellar game without Nintendo's influence.

So that said, it's really up to the developer to get their act together. Geist's developer just never had the talent necessary.

Nice. Pretty interesting, i was told Nintendo jumped in and sorted out everything, gave retro real focus and structure.

1. It's EGM.
2. I don't remember the details, but I believe the crux of my argument was that the game was an interesting concept and had potential. I wasn't exactly confident of N-Space's ability to fully realize that potential, but I had hope. Certainly not unreasonable, at the time. Hell, I'll still say it's certainly not unreasonable, though I'm less hopeful now. It's EGM.

:)

I expected Geist to be a 7ish game. Considering the GC exclusive curve, it seems to be about that.

PS EGMutts: I didn't see much talk about the multiplayer in the reviews, how is it?
