37 or so episode series. While the series is about Formula racing, it's played out like a standard Shounen sports series. Kid accidently becomes driver for a struggling racing team's new vehicle that has a super new Cyber System (Computer AI for the vehicle) and goes through the trials and tribulations of becoming a racer and growing up on the track. Great series with awesome characters and a whole ton of fun. Great leisure watch. It was originally aired back in 1991 and had 4 follow-up OAVs. i could go more indepth another time if you want. =b

Ahh man I am so disappointed in you Moogle -- Now and Then is a top 5-10 series for me. I'm one of its few longtime proponents here though.. as I recall, Shouta isnt much of a fan either.

Btw, anyone who passes up on Kare Kano (aka the greatest anime ever made) at 40 dollars needs to DIE.

Oh, and the car designer is Shouji Kawamori. If you ever want to see his style evolve, watch CF and its OAVs.

Trust me, 35 bucks is a steal for the entire series. It's old-school goodness.

Well, we were bound to disagree on something, Meier. I dunno; I bought the boxset, was super hyped about it, really enjoyed the first half, and then it all went to shit for me. Oh well.

Kare Kano is good, but it has a very unfortunate flaw (which I guess we all should have seen coming given the manga is STILL ongoing). A shame.
