Geometry Wars vs. Mutant Storm

I got a 360 this week (belated xmas gift). I have no games for it. (and none really interest me actually, except maybe CoD2)

So I went on XBLA to get something to pass the time.

I downloaded both GW, and MS trial games

I LOVE Robotron/SmashTV control schemes.

Geometry Wars is fantastic, but I wonder if it gets old too fast.
Mutant Storm seemed awesome, but the crippling BUY THIS GAME every level really distracted me.

What should I get? And if the answer really is both, that's fine too!

Would you prefer pepperoni, or shit on your pizza?

Geometry Wars, hands down, no questions asked.

Geometry wars is probably a better challenge just because its a bit more random, maybe a better long term bet. I prefer Mutant Storm though (own it on PC) because the level structure makes it easier to get into and helps you figure out where you're going wrong. It has 86 levels so it's not exactly short either.

They are both worth a purchase, imo. It would be hard for me to pick which one is better, as they both have their strengths. There's definitely more strategy involved in Mutant Storm as you get up in the levels. Geo Wars just ends up being you flying in a circle shooting, though there is a little strategy involved due to what can show up (the "jacks" being one).

Anyway, get them both, you won't be disappointed if you even half enjoyed the demos.

I'd recommend getting both. Mutant Storm has great structure so it's good for regular shooter fans. Geometry Wars is totally random everytime, but it seems everyone loves it. Of the two, Mutant Storm seems to be the hardest to get all 12 achievements. Only 2 people have the final achievement or something like that.

I think they're the two best XBLA games. I love hopping into either one when I'm not sure what disc based game I feel like playing.

I guess I need to pick up Mutant Storm. I wasn't crazy about the demo, but I am not sure why. I have spent more time with Geometry Wars than any other 360 game.

Even though they share the same control scheme and basically the same premise, they're different enough that both are worth the purchase. Geo Wars is random chaos, Mutant Storm is more strategic since the levels unfold the same way every time. Both are among the best neo-arcade games I've played in a long time.
