Get on the Seoul Train

Anyone ever been to Seoul? I've got to go to South Korea next week for three days to get a visa (it's a long, painful story) and need some ideas on what to do with my free time. The actual visa application process shouldn't take more than a couple hours, and after that I have a ton of spare time on my hands while everything processes. Anything exciting to do besides play MMORPGs for 80 hours and keel over dead?

I'm gonna goto Seoul as well early next year. I also have no idea what to do there, I only decided to go there beacuse no one else i know has been there....
I got a lonely planet boook that i havent'r eally read. I can't speak korean either so hopefully english is ok there, as i can't even pronounce the words in the phrase book. :)

Yeah, I can't speak a lick of Korean, so I'm hoping I can get by on passable Japanese. And I hope the subway system is as conveniently labeled in English as the Japanese system is, or I'm going to be holding my own map up to the station's and squinting like a clueless retard to match the symbols.

Korea is one of the least culturally diverse countries in the world, if you're going over there you might as well learn the Korean writing system. It'll take you no time, it's just as easy (if not easier) as Hiragana to learn, and then you'll be able to read borrowed words and place names.
LusDekkar, Korean written with roman characters is near impossible to pronounce, but things become quite easy to pronounce once you learn how he individual characters sound (and the shapes you need to form with your mouth).

Korea is a place I have always thought it would be great to live in. Perhaps when I finish my graduate this year... :)

Enjoy the trip !
