Getting either an Xbox or PS2

TTOB: Even for Japanese-developed mecha games, there's more than enough Xbox ones to go around. The new one from From Soft, Metal Wolf Chaos, looks to be the pinnacle. Amazing game.

This game is horrid.

Assuming you speak of Armored Core, that's the commentary I expect of the uninitiated. Which is to be expected since From Software / Agetec continually fudge the marketing and execution of the game:

1. No on-line play out of the box damns the second point.
2. Armored Core is a long lasting competitive game, with a high level of customization.

If you need any pointers, I can provide links to seasoned AC boards where you can get pointers on how to improve your game, instead of resorting to the typical anti-AC complaints. Most people, the reviewers included, barely scratch the surface of what the game has to offer.

It's like reviewing a fighting game based on the single player mode alone.

The new one from From Soft, Metal Wolf Chaos, looks to be the pinnacle.

To my understanding, MWC is a single player on-rails, or similar shooter.

Not at all comparable to AC.

With Winning Eleven 8 coming out for X-Box I literally throw my PS2 in the garbage w/ my spoiled milk, though I felt bad about the spoiled milk because it wasn't really that spoiled.

Xbox, Halo 2 is reason enough to get it.

You get more value for your money with an Xbox also (2 free games + no memory card).

It's almost ridiculous how much the HD vs. memory card plays into my decisions; it's almost always the clincher, like for BO3 most recently, sparkz be damned I don't wanna have to delete my Winning Eleven replays or other saves or buy a new memory card.

I think i'm going for the Xboxen now :lol

no memory card and Halo 2 on live is wayy too good for me to pass up. Do the two games that come with the box have "not for resale" on them? I'd want to trade them in for the original Halo and 2 if possible.

Yes it does say not for resale, and they are both on one disk.

I got all of them so I could mock them all when appropriate, like the dentist on Seinfeld who became Jewish.

Buy a PS2 with Disgaea, GTA: San Andreas, MGS3, Dark Cloud 2 and Gran Turismo 4. And you will not see daylight for the next 8 months or so :)

I played UYA online before. And I stand by this assessment:

Crimson Skies is the best online experience for any console, period. Return to Castle Wolfenstein, MechAssault, Halo 2, and Top Spin are close though.

Halo 2 is probably the more varied online experience, with a wealth of options. Unreal ChampionShip is pretty damned fun online too.

Lots of Racers online for Xbox. With PS2 you have some ATV offroad game and a seperate append GT4 which may or may not ever see release.

It depends really. Sure PS2 has the bigger back-catalog of "good/great" games. But Xbox has had the most triple A titles this year. And some of the PS2 titles that are considered "great" are dated and not so fun anymore... Onimusha has not aged well with it's dated graphics and horrible controls, neither has MGS 2. I just got around to playing it recently and hated it. So if you want the most up-to-date gaming at it's best, and the most technologically advanced console, with the best Online network. Choose the Xbox.

Worst PS2 trolling ever. :lol

And to think UYA is better than that. Wow.

Xbox for online and MULITPLAYER CO OP games. Tons on Xbox.

Seriously, if you and your bro really want to play lots of multiplayer games, its Xbox all the way. No extra mem cards, no multitap, much better version of PS2 games and a superior online service.

Halo 2 and Halo are quite easily the best co-op games on any console. Go online with your bro and play against 14 other players in big matches. Then theres Ninja Gaiden, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Conker, DOA Ultimate (amazing party game) PGR2, Chronicals of Riddick, KOTOR, KOTOR 2, Jade Empire, Conker, OTOGI 2, DOOM3 (online co-op) Crimson Skies, Fable, JSRF, Rallisport Challenge2 etc

PS2 has some awesome games on it too, but for good multiplayer, Xbox has it beat.

Edit: +1 Custom Soundtracks (makes Burnout 3 playable)

Come on! Join in on the whole GAF Halo 2 online experience (and many more XBL GAF tourneys, clan matches. fun, fun, fun!)
