I watched the cartoon religiously when I was a kid, I was a total little fanboy. I remember basing school projects around it. What a nerd o_o

When I was a kid and the first movie came out, I played the vinyl 45 single for Ray Parker Jr.'s "Ghostbusters" over and over and over. Whatever happened to him?

EDIT: check out Ray Parker Jr.'s official webpage.

did you know that Ray wrote "Mr. Telephone Man" when he was 19 and canned it until the New Edition heard it and recorded it ten years later?

did you know that Ray is really afraid of ghosts and the dark?

did you know that Ray wrote "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and never got credit?

Still going strong.

...

Oh yeah baby. Me and my friends used to act out the Ghostbusters on the street. We built a treehouse and had an old alarm clock that I would set and when it rang, we would jump down on our skateboards (knees on the skateboard, of course) and bust some ghosts.

Good times.

I still want to see a Ghostbusters 3, perhaps with the original (aging) team hiring some new blood or something. Throw in Sean William Scott and maybe even Dave Chappelle or something.

Ghostbusters managed to capture the balance between comedy, spectacle, disaster and darkness perfectly. A true classic and one of my favourite films EVER.

Man, I was such a giant Ghostbusters dork. Yeah, I used to listen to the vinyl record over and over again... with a little ECTO-1 record player racing around the disc playing it. And I had custom Ghostbuster suits sewn up for me, my best friend, sister and cousin for Halloween (I was Peter Venkman). And I had most of the toys. And I watched the cartoon religiously. And I somehow convinced my primary school teacher to let us put on a Ghostbusters play we "wrote", which in reality was 20 mins of us running around, reciting movie lines, and pretending to blow the shit out of everything in the hall.

Good times, good times.

man, me and my friends were so gay for Ghostbusters as kids...that lasted for years, too.

In high school, we came in on Halloween as Ghostbusters, complete with proton packs and everything. We then did a cover of "Monster Mash" in the school Halloween assembly, followed of course by the Ghostbusters theme. :lol

There is a script out there from Akroyd.... He wrote it with the original cast, and it had something to do with a parallel NYC that was actually hades or something. It was a weird premise.... If you search google for Ghostbusters 3, you will come across it.

Also, I remember in an interview that Akroyd gave, he said that Sony didnt want to re-visit the franchise and that since they owned it, he was powerless to shop it to other studios.

I think that at this point, if they ever do make another GB movie, you are going to need a new cast. Bill Murray has become a serious actor, and would probably have an issue being in this movie full time. Harold Ramis and Akroyd are both a little to pudgy for their bustin suits, and Ernie Hudson, well I dont know whats up with him....

I would just like to see them re-make the original or something. Or re-imagine it, or do something with it.

Its a shame how good GB1 was and how GAY GB2 was.....

Did you guys dance while walking on the street like in the video?

So many Ghostbusters toys...so many.... ghosts that never existed in any form (movie or show), it didn't matter, they were just sweet. I loved my action figures that would get scared if you pushed on their arms.
