It's no western theme or anything like that. It's human nature. When you encouter 2 games of a similar genre, chances are you'll tend to lean gradually toward playing one of those games exclusively over time, as opposed to giving both games equal attention. And I've leaned toward playing GR2. Ideally, most of us would like to do the latter and keep/play both (GR2 and Halo 2 in this case), but it just doesn't work out that way due to various reasons.

One thing i am really surprised about is that the game is prettier than halo2. Halo2 and GR2 are equal to me in the fun department just different sttyle of games.

It plays a lot like Ghost Recon 1. If you played it, you will be comfy with 2. I have been playing online tonight and wow, what a big improvement from the single player which I was playing earlier. In multiplayer the framerate doesn't take near the hit as in single player, oddly enough. Well, I'm liking the game a whole lot more now... pretty amazing online play. They really improved the lag a great deal as well (over part 1 and Island Thunder). Very smooth online play, about as good as Halo 2 (which is basically perfection) in terms of not having any lag or whatnot.
The gameplay is not a great leap over part 1 but that's not a bad thing. But it takes that gameplay and adds some polish. Graphics are a big leap over part 1 however, very nice graphics indeed. Not as good as Halo 2 like the other guy was claiming but not TOO far back either. The sound is where this game really kicks some ass. Grenades going off make my subwoofer REALLY come alive!
This game is a very good game and should not be missed. Totally different than Halo 2, hardly even worth comparing. This is slow paced tactical shooter with a lot of realism. Whole different change of pace going on.

i dunno man the waterfall level i think its call the Convoy has got to be the prettiest level i have ever seen in an fps.

man, been playing this more and it just keeps getting better and better. really a damn good game that gets better and better. i have really fallen in love with the over the shoulder view as well, they really nailed that. very nice! the graphics are indeed great as everyone is saying, but i'm surprised more people aren't raving about the absolutely breathtaking 5.1 sound implementation. i'd dare say it's the most impressive sound in a game i've seen yet. as i said earlier too, the bass coming from explosions is fricken impressive! wow, my 500 watt jbl sub has never sat up and talked to me this way ever before! hehe.
