Ghost Recon X360 single player preview + pics

I read last night that Major Nelson has said that the demo for GRAW will hit Live about a week before the release of the game. Lets see if we can crash the Market Place trying to download it. :)

This game is rule. I just hope I find enough time to balance out the single player and the greatness of the multiplayer on this thing.

I love how everyone else (and your own guy) reacts to the explosions, the slight head twitch. Frickin' detailed animation.

Add me to the list of people who've never played a GR game and are looking to be completely owned by this one.

16 player co-op in Summit Strike>>>>>every game mode in Halo 2

My personal favourite was 5-6 people in co-op Heli Hunt. Funniest thing I've ever seen :lol

Only three more weeks until my first 360 purchase. This and Oblivion are the reason I picked it up. Kameo and RR6 are coming from Gamefly this week to keep me occupied a little longer.

This game looks awesome. Like I'm going to be online all evening 5+ days a week awesome.

Did anyone notice how in a couple of those vids the character would sorta dive/slide into the wall for cover?

I thought that was a cool touch.

Yeah, I read in one of those previews that that was a new option when moving for your character this time out. You can dive for cover to get across open distances more quickly.

The 1Up show sold me on this game. I wasn't all that excited for it until I saw the footage there. I cant wait now.

Not bad for a system that has been out for less than three months. I can't remember a system that has this many high quality games in its first 4 months of release. COD2, PGR3, Condemned, DOA4, Fight Night 3, Oblivion, GRAW, The Outfit, Blazing Angels, BF2, NFS:MW, PDZ, Kameo, NBA 2K6. Wow!

The mother of all GRAW single player videos was just posted @ GameTrailers

It's amazing, the music, the animation when the characters are running or sliding into cover on their knees, the explosions, controlling vehicles... I've never been so impressed by a videogame, and I'm not watching anything else from here on out till it's in my hands.

Just reserved this yesterday and have convinced my closest gaming buddy to buy a 360 for this alone. Looks hawt!

Cool footage in that video from Gametrailers...but I had to stop it after a couple of minutes because they were just telling me the whole story. Hey, guys at Gametrailers.com, listen to this: I don't want you SPOIL THE GOD-DAMN GAME FOR ME!!! OK?!

Jeez, is it so fucking hard to understand that people genuinely do NOT like storyline spoilers?

Holy crap. I might be grabbing a 360 soon.

There's this thing on your computer/speakers/media player of choice called "volume". Turn it down, sit back, and enjoy the video. ;)

Yeah seriously... my friend works at gametrailers and he said that the reviewer told him there's a level in this game that he [the reviewer] didn't believe would ever be possible in a videogame! GRAWOMG! That's a wild statement, and because of it [and the hint he drops in this preview] I don't want to watch anything else lest the surprise be ruined.

But if I turn it down then I don't hear the (excellent) music and sound...and the explosions, of course :D

Well it's things like that which I want to discover for myself. That sounds pretty cool btw :D Next gen games = things that shouldn't have been possible up until now. I played COD2 without knowing anything about it...first time I played it and saw the sheer scale and size of what was going on, I was completely stunned. I want that kind of experience with every game I play, not having it spoiled completely weeks before I get to play it

btw the new Splinter Cell apparently has a similar level in it, that is exclusive to the 360 version, and just couldn't be done on any other platform (read it in the latest UK OXM mag). Ubisoft are really pushing the 360 IMO, and avoiding lazy ports and conversions like a lot of developers are doing

I love the progression this game has taken in terms of GAF(and my) opinion. Started out lukewarm to warm, as one of the cooler looking X360 games, but still not really mindblowing. Then X05 rolled around and everyone did a sortof "WTF?" and figured it was gonna turn out like trash. Then new media started to roll out, and now excitement for the game is through the roof.

Quite the rollercoaster. Glad it's ending so high.

123rl, with the selling of games and movies becoming ever similar I find a little paradox in that I love reading about games and seeing pictures of them and watching previews [and reviews] before I playing [hell I'm lurking on GAF, why else would I be here], whereas I really try to not expose myself at all to films that I'm even slightly interested in. I know for me that makes the movie viewing experience better [even if it turns out bad, it's still a surprise] and I wonder if I shouldn't be being more vigilant with games too sometimes. It's hard though with something like GRAW that looks so damn good.

Damnit! STOP GIVING ME REASONS TO WANT A 360! Im not rich! This game looks beautiful. This is real next gen right here.

Amazing.

:O :O :O

best video ever. best graphics ever!

the explosions, environments, cross-com, vehicles, environments!

Amazing.

After E3 2006, there will be more reasons to own a X360.

Why deny yourself gaming greatness? :D

After seeing that Gametrailers trailer, I think it is safe to say that Next-Gen has officially arrived. Anyone who sees that and says otherwise is clearly lacking a pulse.

There's definitely a valid comparison to movies, IMO. Like with all great movies or TV shows, I don't want to know too much about the plot and I certainly don't want to know any spoilers. I've noticed that, over the last three years or so, I've developed the same attitude towards story-based games, ie I hate knowing spoilers, or even knowing too many plot details. I guess it's a sign of how games have evolved and progressed into serious entertainment

For GRAW, all I want to know is how it plays, stable framerate, good multiplayer, and decent replay value (offline and online). I don't really want to know anything about storyline, weapons, strategies etc until I play it for myself. My most recent big story-based game is Shadow Of The Colossus (started it on Wednesday). I knew NOTHING about it when I bought it because I forced myself to avoid all videos and previews from E3 05 onwards. It was more than worth doing that because I haven't enjoyed a game as much as this since Resi 4 last January (and tbh I'd say SOTC>Resi 4 for pure enjoyment)

wow, graw looking like a killer app. everything looks amazing, the gameplay looks so great too, love all the additions they have made. not just a retread sequel by any means. gametrailers also indicated a suprise in the gameplay they can't reveal, nice. is it march yet?

The day GRAW drops is PDZ's expiration date, unfortunately.

Unfortunately? All that means is that it's going to be blown away. I see nothing unfortunate about that =).

EDIT - I want to add...for those that haven't played battlefield 2, the helicopter rides are going to be quite something for you. Perhaps one of the most stunning parts. Particularly when you lift off, and suddenly everything that was so detailed upclose is now a couple hundred feet below you, it's a very different sort of feeling than you're used to getting in games. I can't wait to see some peoples reactions to that, since in this game it will probably be even more jarring than battlefield 2, since it looks so much better. I think my first hellicopter ride in BF2 was one of the most "whoa..." moments in gaming history for me.

This game is just crazy. I've honestly never seen anything quite like this. The animation is incredible, the explosions are breathtaking and the parts in the helicopter are just insane. And the lighting! Wow! I have watched both the preview on IGN (it's really worth it for the helicopter stuff alone) and the preview on gametrailers. Boy, does this game look good. I'm totally hyped now :lol

Really, the screenshots do look great but they don't do this game justice. Even in low-res the clips are totally amazing.

damn that was nice. The explosion at the end of the trailer was insane. By far the best footage of this game released to date.

I think I know what you mean. I felt that when I first took a heli ride in Operation Flashpoint. It's the scope of it all that gets you. That's why the element that impresses me the most in GRAW is the city. Can't wait.

Yea. It's the sudden shift of going from being in semi cramped corridors of buildings to suddenly being able to see the whole city. It's a REALLY cool feeling the first few times.
