We do need a good anime thread on the site, to be fair. AnimeGAF is sort of into the whole "black hole of despair and moe" thing.

There was a thread about it on the GB forums for a while before too, so I've been aware of it since FOREEEEVER! But it doesn't really bother me. Someone pointing out that Patrick says "like" a lot on podcasts made me notice that a LOT more though

This past week of content has served as an illustration that with Dan, we're kind of just getting another Jeff. Dude who likes wrestling, hates anime, thinks MOBAs are weird, so on and so forth. You could see this as a positive in that it strengthens a viewpoint that already existed, but I feel like it's a negative in that it closes a door for opposing or different game-related viewpoints not already represented at GB.

I don't understand this viewpoint because the greatest appeal of GB from the very start to me was that it was a site of people who had known each other and been friends for a long time having fun and talking about things they enjoy.

I don't want GB to try to cover all viewpoints or be some kind of neutral objective content site. I want duders doing their thing, joking around, and so on. And I think they're still kind of killing it, and Dan joining the mix was both an easy and valuable addition to that formula.

tl;dr- I don't want different GB, I want more GB.
