Puts the comment from Jeff in the last Jar video in perspective.

Was something like "Sony hired great people. Some of which I wish I could have hired myself" (I'm paraphrasing)

He was talking about interns though, so if that was in reference to anyone it would be Kessler, not Drake.

I'm 32, have never driven, don't know or care about D&D, never had mustard, etc.. Not sure how that makes me sheltered, just have no interest in the stuff you might have done or are interested in?

D&D is one of those things I assume you just absorb through being a live person

like I dont know or give a shit about KISS but i know the terrible "Rock n roll all nite" is their song

not having mustard is just one of those things that if you dont eat mustard who cares but never even having it just stands out as a little weird. It's just such a small insignificant fact that I assume everyone has at least had mustard once

I dont know how people get anywhere without driving, but I live in texas suburbs where thats the only way to get anywhere. Adults without licenses here are typically unemployed, sheltered or mentally challenged. If I lived somewhere with public transportation to everywhere I need to go I"d probably not drive either, but to do anything here it basically requires a car

Sony sure has done a good job hiring people who are not assholes in recent years.

In comparison to EA and Microsoft who seem to have some kind of employee trading program going on.

Oh and Hay. Thinking of starting Torchlight 2 but I cant decide on a class. Anyone got any pointers? Might just try Embermage. I never play mage and I havent a clue what is up with the other classes.

So is Divinity all linked or just a catch all name like FF? 'cause this (original sin) seems pretty standard fantasy but I remember that Dragon Commander game as more steampunk-y.

I'm no Divinity expert but Original Sin takes place before all of the other Divinity games in the timeline. That probably explains the lack of steampunkyness.

So I've been in the dark regarding this whole Divine Divinity thing.
This isn't an actual D&D property, right?
I don't have to start screaming at my computer screen due to thac0 issues?

I enjoyed Engineer. Shooting cannons while throwing out spider mines.

Yeah, Sony seem a lot quicker on the uptake when it comes to understanding the increasingly closer relationship consumers have with corporates. 10 years ago it was almost completely mediated by the press. I'm not trying to say Sony 'cares' or something similarly naive, but they seem to have actually learnt from their previous fuck ups (both intentional and unintentional).

Go Engineer. I had such a good time with mine.

It's almost as though the person who's not playing and explaining the game can devote way more attention to noticing minute details on the screen!

Dear Diary:
I got Brad to respond to me. Today was the best day of my life.

Sorry Brad, didn't mean to be mean ;)

I thought all the Torchlight 2 classes were fun. Embermage and Berserker were my favorites though. Both had some decent mobility and Embermage was a hilarious fireworks show of death. Berserker was dumb fun because you could just run into the largest group of the largest enemies and as long as you were punching, you stayed alive.

thac0 hasn't been around in d&d for like 15 years dude

theres been more years and more games without it than there was with it

edit:

So it's completely original? Neat!

How do the dice rolls work? Do they explain it at all?

probably, but theres also a fat % marker on screen to show you at a glance what the odds are at that time

I've been to Texas and yeah, it'd be hard to get around without a car. Where I live though I can just take the bike most places, and train/bus if it's another city.

The Xenonauts Quick Look was pretty amazing, didn't expect the game to be so true to the original XCOM. Seems like a solid game, all the fine tuning has quiet a entry barrier however, don't really want to go through that hurdle.

I don't think Dan is any more ignorant than others, his ignorance is simply more apparent to users of a gaming site because it involves cursory knowledge that's thrust down your throat if you've ever come in contact with nerd culture which I'd argue video games have mainly belonged to up until quite recently. So even if you're not exactly a grognard, you'll find yourself unwittingly knowing an alarming amount of meaningless and unrelated details when it comes to pen & paper RPGs ("20-sided dice, lol!"), battlefronts during WWII ("Rommel, lol!"), physics ("Schrödinger's cat, lol!"), mathematics ("Fibonacci number, lol!"), literature ("That's so Kafkaesque, lol!") etc.

Yeah, I think this is what it boils down to. For instance, he obviously knows a shit ton of stuff about wrestling. The only small bits of wrestling knowledge I have come from Jeff's cursory comments.

I know. But the only 3 and 3.5 ruleset I know in games are the Kotor ones. Forgot what Icewind Dale was...

Anyway...glad to know they aren't using ADND rules and something original. Will have to check it out.

They're killing it? Not enough attendees?

Apparently the event grew "too fast, too soon".

Translation: Popular with the people, but couldn't attract enough larger financial sponsors to compensate for the ballooning size. Unfortunately it's a real issue for any event related to social issues and cons generally don't make enough money from ticket sales.

After watching some of "Teach Me FIFA, Danny" I feel they have a possible great series on their hands

Teach Me Street Fighter, Jason
Teach Me Dota, Brad
Teach Me World War II, Dan
