This is secretly the first step in phasing out Jeff before he leaves the site and we are going to be looking back on it in a few months going "ohhh. Thats why that happened" isnt it?
 
Much respect for Jeff. That's a classy, ego-free move that you don't see publicly very often. Very cool.

Just waking up to the news that Brad is the new Bombcast host. That's pretty awesome, he does a fantastic job with it. #teambrad

I think GB has already changed so much it's not as appealing. Nothing negative about the new guys but I miss Vinny, Patrick and Ryan.

I just have to accept that I'll never be so entertained by them again in the same way. Very sad.

I'm getting dangerously close to being creepy here, but I feel like recent events in Jeff's personal life have made him reconsider how big of a role he wants Giant Bomb to have in his life. Maybe it's actually fine to share some of the responsibility?

It's not really that weird. He only hosted the Bombcast for about a year. Now he doesn't host it again.

Yeah things change and it's sad.

The best years were in the original office, but I still love the stuff they put out now.
 
Oh man, Pillars of Eternity QL EX tomorrow! That's a pretty great get. Given their excitement with D:OS should be good. Hopefully Rorie gets in that action (or Dave, but I won't hold my breath).
 
what is Brad going to do if he can't fall asleep or randomly disappear for 15 minutes in the middle of bombcasts anymore??

for real though, I think he does a good job with it, especially for someone who has admitted to chronic stage fright. I approve of our new leader.
 
Noooooo!! I hated nintendownloads so much. They were the worst 4 minutes of every podcast. Except the time Jeff called out "Jazz Billiards" and Vinny immediately quipped, "it's all about the balls you DON'T hit." For some reason, that was one of the funniest things I'd ever heard.
 
Brad is the new host of the Bombcast, Jeff is hopefully bringing back NintenDownloads, and Dan is starting a premium video series where he plays an MMO for the first time. Things are looking up over at Giant Bomb West.

I have to agree that it feels clear that for whatever reasons (and let me emphasize that we don't need to know the reasons and frankly they don't matter) Jeff has clearly decided to cut back on how much time he devoted to Giant Bomb.

Frankly, I think it's a good thing. Dude was basically devoting his life to the site for a while there, so some balance is probably healthy.

I also think that Jeff works best as the second chair instead of the host on the Bombcast, and Brad has done an excellent job stepping up as the host.

People that ask questions and then go on to strongly imply they know the answer already are obnoxious. It's like talking to someone directly but talking about them in the third person.
 
Brad being the new host is awesome, I think that's a win-win, Brad is more engaged while Jeff has more time to interject.

Best positioning change since Löw put Lahm back as right defender.
 
With Brad being the host he has to stay awake and be alert during the podcast. Plus he gets to look at his iMac/phone for legit reasons!

Plus he now has the power to make his own Dota 2 segment!
 
Is the entire map open in The Crew beta? If I could ignore the entire story and just initiate cross country police chases with extremely dogged AI whenever I want I might actually get it.
 
Brad brings a good energy and earnestness to hosting, really enjoyed his last couple of podcasts. Also with the return of 3+ hour bombcasts it should be clear Brad was the true heir to the mic all along.
