He's in San Fransico now, he has a month off to his new job since he left Gameinformer, he's on the Power bombcast, him and Jeff are trolling on Twitter, it would make a perfect fit with his videos with Gameinformer and Giantbomb guys like Alexis started following him.

No, that's a total unknown. Speculation about it being Zac Minor since he helped them out at E3 and is really good at what he does, but he has confirmed on Twitter that he only helped them out at E3. So for now we have no real idea.

Yeah, I wonder if they've even made a pick yet. Seems like something Vinny would have been involved with before he left.

Semi off topic, something I haven't investigated in a long time. What's the best/fastest way to capture/host/make gifs like these, from GB content?

Jeff has said that he has almost nothing to do with that hire (as EIC he will of course have the final word, but my guess is that it's more a formality), it's Drew and Vinny who's responsible. So you might be right, it makes sense that they maybe decided on someone while Vinny was still in SF.

I seem to remember someone in Giant Bomb thread # 7 said that he/she was called into an interview with Vinny/Drew, so that seems to be an actual hiring process. I suspect that Dan was pretty much a lock in the editorial position from day 1.
 
I don't think I'll ever listen to another Bombcast ever again which is pretty sad since I've been listening since the beginning. Without Vinny it's gonna be pretty hollow.

Seems like quite the knee-jerk reaction! Especially with Ryckert joining the Bombcast in probably 2 weeks. But oh well, your decision!
 
So when do we find out about the new team member(s)?
 
Near the end of the Day 2 E3 podcast. This one took a nosedive in quality of discussion compared to the first one, didn't it? That's mostly down to the guests I feel, but still, I can't recall any discussion worth listening to in the whole of the 3 hour thing. Compare that to the first one where we had the No Man's Sky guys, Palmer Luckey, Phil Spencer, Shushei Yoshida among others (talking about games and their jobs) and it's no contest - day 1 show was great.

If anyone hasn't seen/listened to it yet, I'd say skip the day 2 show.
