also went back to that moment in the Mario Party stream and it never gets old. Drew won the entire thing in my eyes just for that (especially when Brad was talking mad shit about Drew not being good at the game some time before).

He needs to bring back his aggressive bush jumping video's. Or do a Reunion Bush Jumping video, going back to jump the same bushes in the modern day.
 
I feel like a Party Pooper but I don't think that Video should be on the site. Maybe on Pat's tumblr. Just feels weird, I dunno. It's not like it' a big deal for me but it just feels too weird.

Also, for a video about "This is me as a kid playing DDR" I'm finding the four minutes of talking before preeetty excessive!

Wonder if they're going to test out PSNow. Kinda wanna see/hear their thoughts on how well it handles game streaming.

I see your point, but Giant Bomb is a personality driven site at it's core. Vinny shared a video showing his newborn baby. All these things just add to the pile of things that have made Giant Bomb successful. In a way we know these guys on a personal level (despite this relation being one-sided) and want to support what they do, and I guess Patrick's doing this to strengthen that bond.

I don't think those videos are really comparable. Vinny took some effort to make this video enjoyable while this feels like "I uploaded this old video of me cause I had some time, here watch it."
Like I said, it's not a big deal. It's not even a small deal or a deal at all. Patrick posted a video, I didn't care for it, the end. Nothing more, nothing less. As long as "posting old home videos" doesn't become a main feature on the site, I'll be able to live with it.

Are you talking abou the webcam video he did while on paternity leave or it's something else?

On the contrary, more dumb videos past. present and future is exactly what Giant Bomb needs.

Their home videos are practically a gold mine just waiting to be unleashed upon the world.
 
I feel like that was great subscriber content. Would be awful as free content, but for subscribers it is perfect.

By paying for access to a video game site, we already clearly feel connected. Look how many of us have stupid avatars. Read the hundreds of posts wondering about the staffs personal lives. How many of us, who never met Ryan, were devastated by his passing. I think it is totally OK to acknowledge that connection, and think it is really cool that Patrick was open to share with us.

To me, that is what makes GB great. That is why they have had success. At some level they have realized the importance of that content provider/content viewer relationship.
 
I have traveled for 30k (aprox) today watching Giant Bomb content on my TV. Between Random Encounter and The Lobby I might make it to 50k if I really try.

I wish I thought of exercising to their videos earlier, much better than just sitting on my arse. My legs feel like a mummy though.
