did they go back to barkerville since the original video when brad mentioned it? also why is this thread not called giant bomb ot 8 | lets go to barkerville

Because an e3 reference is more timely than the barkerville thing that had it's moment in the spotlight?

Rewatched their SNES Party yesterday. Good stuff. Patrick's "why don't you shift some blocks around, asshole" (pt.3) was great, lol.

I don't know, people are still beating this "who is the next hire" thing into the ground.

But at least that hasn't been committed to a thread title we'll have to live with for several weeks!

I like this title because I like Jeff Green.

If TGS didn't go off a cliff the last few years I bet they could have done The Raid as a post or pre TGS thing.

Could they just send Drew to Gamescom and have him spend 1 day at the show and the rest of the week walking around Germany? I would watch that.

I just want to see the crews NOPE face on the public days.

It should be just him and Vinny checking out all the simulation games.

If they sent Drew to Gamescom, it would mean a week of diminished content in the home office.

They're really in a damned if you do/damned if you don't scenario here. What they really needed was 2 more production guys.

They needed an editor too. But yeah, three hires would be ideal (1 editor + 2 producers) since Vinny is in NY now.

Jeff has said he would rather go to gamescom than TGS. I would like Drew and Jeff to tour europe tracking down the origins of the Gerstmann name. Like the BBC show but they could call it "Who the fuck do you think you are?".

Oh, I definitely agree. My saying that they needed 2 production guys was in no way saying they didn't need another editorial guy. Just that they needed to have more production guys than they did before in SF, and with Vinny moving we're back at where we started.

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. What does GB expect? For us to just re-watch the same content over and over again?

Finally, somewhere, at some point, inside of this thread the greatest and deepest question we have ever known will be answered. Forward Unto Dawn!

I'm not that overly pleased that Ryan is still missing from the thread OP, just like he was with #7.

Nothing stops the Bombcast.

Nothing.

Those WCW cards are dope as hell, though! They're inspiring me to make my own!

As a bean counter my response would be that they should show an increase in traffic with 2 new guys and then we can talk about someone else. Or you can have a new SF based video guy now if you fire Vinny
lol
.

I imagine Jeff sold the Vinny move to CBS by saying that Vinny would work several days a week in an office on new content and the rest of the time at home editing video. He has complained that setup and recording/streaming takes up most of his days - with him mostly free of that he should be able to take up the bulk of post production and maybe some new longer form vids.

I dunno why jeff would have to sell the vinny move to CBSi. They've been pretty carefree about letting the bombers relocate so far.

This talk of moving reminded me of a question I think I asked in the last thread but didn't get an answer to.

I think it was Brad who said to Danny on a UPF that saying "to move house" or "I moved country" sounded weird to him. Is that not a phrase used in the US?

Maybe to us, but I have little doubt that Jeff has been engaged in epic battles to allow it to happen. Think of how quiet they kept the death of Whiskey. If Jeff wants hide information from the audience (and those battles are likely something he'd want to keep very quiet), he can hide it quite deftly.

I also suspect that if CBSi had not allowed it, both Patrick and Vinny would have just left Giant Bomb instead of staying in SF.

I just subscribed for the first time in about a year. Any must-see stuff I should watch first? There's so much to get through.

Vinny made clear that he was returning to NY eventually after his son was born. So it truly sounds that Jeff battle for him staying in the staff in NY.

They are not spoken that way and they sound like grammatically incomplete phrases in American English. We also don't say "I went to hospital." It would be "I went to the hospital."

We say, "I moved" or "I moved to a (location)", but not "move (location)".

I still stand by my theory that a major East/West benefit which may have sold CBSi on the idea is that one 'team' can be doing location filming while the other cranks out the regular content. Obviously for major shows like E3 it requires all hands on deck, but there's lots of smaller events that only requires 3 or 4 of them.

I don't think E3's "amazing" numbers will be ignored and Jeff is always one to make his feelings clear, he'll never feign being happy about something, so if he says he's excited about GB's future, I believe him.

In a year?

Hmm, from a quick glance, vinnyvania, breaking brad demon's souls, backflips in bioforge and the latest unpro are pretty highly recommended.

Also holy shit the bioforge thing was only a year old.

edit: oh yeah, breaking brad volgarr too.
