Not sure what Jeff's getting at lumping Mirror's Edge and Medal of Honor together. Is Mirror's Edge a bad game or generic and derivative like Medal of Honor? No, like it or not as a game it brought something new, something Dead Space didn't.

Seems to me like he was implying ME was mediocre and Dead Space is the only good thing to come of EA's change in development strategy. If that's the case his preference in games is irrelevant and he was stating it like it was a common consensus, which it isn't.
When it comes to quality and enjoyment there is no "general consensus" all one has is there own opinion which is what Jeff was expressing, unfortunately people constantly need this pointed out to them.

He didn't say anything about enjoyment. It was a general statement of quality if anything and to put Mirror's Edge and Medal of Honor in the same category is dumb. His opinion was dumb. The End.

If you don't enjoy a game its not a quality game to you. It's all subjective. When someone says "man that's a high quality game/movie/tv show/whatever" it's because they enjoyed it.

There cannot be "general statements" about quality of subjective things, there are only opinions. You cannot expect everyone to say "in my opinion" before and after every single thing that ever comes out of their mouth.
