mmmm not sure I know its long I going to say 45 hours or so.
69 video's all around the 12 to 15 min mark.
And he cuts out a LOT so their is even more to the play time but most random battles are cut out.
And a great thing about his run is that no story spoilers before he comes to it himself.
Even though he played the game over 20 times him self does plays it like you would for the first time.
But knowing where to go.
Hmm...well that is interesting. Does he read the dialog? Cause I did my 20 hours run at the same pace. I find it difficult to imagine that I am 25 hours less just because I skipped dialog as well as using speed builds. I also don't cheat doing codes I know and such so the time difference is interesting.

Well, if that is the case then it illustrates the difference between power and speed builds. A speed build probably takes 1/2 the time to take down normal battles. A power build though can take down bosses faster. So is it more of a feat to beat the game in half the time or be able to beat down bosses fast?
I've been called out on being a speed freak in CT, which is true. But this is probably just another instance of preference. I don't see why you would want to play the game in double the time though prolonging battles... But maybe it is just more time to bask in the greatness of CT.
I want someone to spoil the story for me. I've played the game a bunch of times, but I could never answer this:
Who is this mystical being who with its dying breath sees its life pass before its eyes once more, revisiting the different eras by means of Crono and his band of time travelers? I had my own theories, ... but does the game actually tell you?
Did I forget to talk to somebody? Is it revealed in one of the endings I never got?
I don't think they remember a lot of what they actually played. I suspect that in the next episode they will be aimlessly wandering about 600AD looking for this "new" great wizard they just heard about.

To be fair, they narrowed it down to either the Middle Ages or the Dark Ages, and I'd assume after a little bit of pointless wandering they'll realize they have to go back to Zeal.
They really scared me for a minute, they managed to do everything but the Sewer Access in the future and I was afraid they were going to go back and explore the whole Factory before trying the Sewers. 2poch made up for it though.

Haven't watched since the Black Tyrano episode (and I won't be able to catch up until maybe Friday), but someone please tell me that they enjoyed Zeal...
Also,
2poch
is GENIUS. LOL.
As for the person asking for the identity of the "Entity", it's... (spoilers for both Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross)
indeed the planet itself. One can say that the Entity is creating the presence of the Time Gates by reliving its memories, particularly those of Lavos, who disrupted its life. In the original Japanese version of Chrono Trigger, Gaspar mentions that the war against Lavos is essentially a battle between Lavos and the Planet itself (in the English version, this was unfortunately translated to a more vague "the world" -- characterizing people, rather than properly characterizing the "Entity" as the planet).
It's clarified moreso in Chrono Cross, where it's said that the planet has a mind of its own and it can dream (Square's promotional tagline for Cross went something like, "The dream the planet had repelled the darkness and brought forth a brighter future, but this was the dawn of a new nightmare...") and act (for example, it brought Dinopolis to the main world after Chronopolis travelled back in time after the Time Crash).
Essentially, think of the Entity, or the Planet, as something with volition. You can also equate this with the Gaia Hypothesis as well.

Why bother? I'm playing through along with the ER, although I'm being more thorough. At this shop, all I bought was a CometArrow and a Glow Helm. Crono has the Swallow, so he doesn't need the Demon Edge and everybody is rocking some colored Mail, so no armor is needed.
I'm with you guys I hate that I am being forced into watching a free video about a pair of dudes who aren't playing the game perfectly, fuck these many hours of free content that this website pumps out. I hate it.

Why not? There is no need to save other then for this instance. And that merchant is full of useful upgrades. If you are knowledgeable about the merch, then you should be playing accordingly. They are excused for not knowing but it is still the proper tactic in CT.

Yes, let's bring up the "perfectly" argument again. Not that anyone is actually asking for perfect play of course. It would just be nice if they had better memories than a goldfish.

No, I'm saying that I have better gear than that guy is selling. You only need to spend a ton there if you don't go rounding up treasures with your pendant.

to round those up. So if you treasure grind, then that's fine. But a straight play-through should mean saving money. It sort of compounds the issue of them not having the treasure gear or the dough to boost.
What percentage are they through the game, you think? I'm catching up, on part 16, and it still seems slow, clumsy, and not as entertaining as I hoped from an endurance run.
This is like watching Curb Your Enthusiasm. I feel like slapping them through the screen when they pass by those enemies that drop huge Tech Point dumps.

The beauty of the game is that it's as long as you want it to be. They have little more than the Ocean Palace and the loss & re-acquisition of the 2Poch before them. Afterwards, they can do whatever the hell they want (i.e.

Being free doesn't make a product immune to criticism, and the frustration people are having has nothing to do with playing "perfectly," just paying more attention.
How the fuck do you miss the fact that this rock, that doesn't even attack you (only has an incredible high evasion and eventually flees) gives you 1000 experience and 100 tech points if you kill him? God damnit, it's what got them their uzzi punch. Yeah let me avoid these two easy experience giving rocks. Sounds like a great plan.
Also I'd like to note that I recently started my very first Chrono Trigger run after randomly deciding to watch the episode in which they start going through Magus' Castle. I'm a little ways ahead of where they are at right now: (
Chrono died
). So by no means do I have a huge amount of knowledge regarding this game and what constitutes playing it "perfectly", but I do know a bit of common sense and paying a little bit of attention goes a long way.
Not really, they just couldn't brute force their way through this boss. With their strategy in place it should be easy enough to beat this guy. It'd be easier even if they hadn't sold the Red Vests, although I doubt they would remember they had fire-repelling armor anyway.

Patrick, 3 minutes before the fight: "They are giving us a lot of barriers, we should probably remember that."
*They never use them*
LOL.
Edit: The ER has been progressing fine. They are clueless about some stuff still, but they are more involved with the game, which was all I asked from them.
