O.k. GAF! I leave to study abroad in Ecuador this Friday (3 days!!!!!). What gifts should I get for my host family? The dad is an engineer, the mom is a houeswife, and the son and daughter are college students. I was thinking about maybe getting an elephant shaped teapot if possible for the mom because elephants are considered good luck there. But I'm not sure if I'll be able to find something so narrow at this point. Suggestions are appreciated:D

Quito? You gotto go to Cuenca(sp?): it's pretty.

Where are you travelling from and how long you staying? Perhaps something "local" from your hometown?

I always do flowers and booze.

I bought a Nike hat for the dad, a Washington Nationals sack pack for the son, a memory stick for the daughter, and an elephant sculpture for the mother. Also I bought each of them some chocolate peanut brittle (which they loved!). They seemed very happy with their gifts. Thank you GAF!
