Balance the weight of the GIGASWORD, battling between brain and brawn in this action-puzzle metroidvania where the might of the sword will determine all. As tensions rise in Thoenhart, a city plagued by famine and disease, the humans within set their hopes on a final solution: invade the ancient tower Nestrium, slay the Nocturne, and take the God Crystal, Gnosis, for themselves.

Said to grant prosperity to those who wield it, Gnosis has been long sought after by humanity for generations. However, upon raiding its resting place, the disturbance of this ancient power awakens an evil capable of destroying the very fabric of reality . Can Ezra reach the top of the Nestrium in time to stop this cataclysm, or will humanity's ignorance lead the world to its doom?

Balance the Weight - The sword may be perfect for combat but you'll find slaying isn't its only use. Unlock doors, weigh down pressure plates, and push blocks as you ground your blade, traversing by foot, relieving yourself momentarily, the weight of the blade.

Olden Secrets - With cataclysm at the doorstep, unearth the twisting forgotten halls of the Nestrium. Hidden secrets lurk behind every nook, cranny, and hole in the wall, with only you to discover the wealth that lies within.

Curb Demonic Ruination - Hack, slash, and dodge through ruthless demons, corrupted bosses, and bloodlusting fiends landing the killing blow, sending them back to the underworld.

Adapt, Innovate, Evolve - As you're forced through nefarious traps, deathly drops, and seemingly invincible foes, discover new abilities to aid in your journey such as Thunder Bolts, Crawling Sparks, Grappling Hooks, and much more.

For Famine and Family - Humans are on death's front door and they curse the heavens, looking to the Nestrium for their salvation. The God Crystal, Gnosis, safeguarded by the Nocturne is a chance at prosperity. It's up to Ezra to keep the balance… and bring peace to all!

Sorry about all the edits. GAF being GAF on mobile and not saving my work I made so I had to remake this from scratch because it didn't save shit in draft mode, and I didn't know it had error to post until I had finished.

Fun times!

Already bought the game and will play tonight. Really excited about it. Game looks superb in motion and the soundtrack is fire!

Another banger by my man Arsic.

Been seeing this one reposted on X from time to time. Looks fun, here's hoping to read your impressions soon!

Edit: my man forgot the store link!

Just played a bit.

A lot of story exposition in the first 15 minutes.

Good visual presentation.

Soundtrack chip tunes are dynamite!!!

Swinging the sword is heeeavy and satisfying.

Liking it so far. Just now entered the first true area and the map is introduced for this metroidvania.

Lastly while Ezra doesn't look like Guts, it's clearly a big sword guy revenge story. Liking the set up. Gamey ass game.

I'm usually really good about keeping up with interesting metroidvanias but this one managed to sneak past me. I think Steam sometimes just doesn't show games that don't have many sales or wishlists unless you look at the expanded/full lists.

Thanks for the OT and knowledge of the game. Purchased!

This looks fairly interesting. I have a weakness for anything even remotely Berserk adjacent.
The big hook is putting down the heavy sword so you can jump higher and do platforming puzzles. You have to then usually get access to your weapon again in some creative way. Demo was pretty enjoyable.

Played some more into the monastery.

Love the puzzles all revolve around the sword. Having to let it go to jump higher, use it to push blocks or weigh down tiles to lift gates, etc.

Monster variety is growing and it's simple stuff here so far but different approaches to each.

No parry just dodge right now and spacing.

Castlevania fans will be pleased.

Something about the visuals is very off putting and I can't quite put my finger on it.
It's great in motion. Trailer didn't sell me on it but in game playing it's very the messenger 8 bit early levels vibe.

For me the art of the owl men put me off which is why I didn't even use them in my gifs or images lol.

It sort of reminds me of trying to mimic two different generations of retro hardware and feeling incohesive overall.

Music is pretty sweet at least. This seems like the type of game I'd want to buy once it's 50% off, though.

Only watched the Berserk movies, which are great, but it's sad how badly it's been handled between video games and TV.

At least they haven't tried to adapt it into a live action movie, to add salt to the wound (as those always turn out crappy).

U can make Guts-alike character for example in dragons dogma 2:

Not to mention being literar guts in elden ring, his sword, armor, hell even special move =D

2.5 hours in and one actual boss down. The game is good and I'm enjoying it but at the same time it feels a bit too basic in design. I know it's a bit reductive but it's becoming quite noticeable how much of it is just "find key to open door and transport your sword further". And combat being simple with only a combo, jump attack and roll doesn't help. The currency acquisition rate feels off as well due to the doors that require said currency to unlock. This wouldn't bother me except there's no fast travel option yet nor is there an obvious one that'll unlock later (like the teleport rooms in SotN) so I almost feel forced to grind and go back for those doors before I progress too far away. I'm hoping there is a fast travel that's tied to the save points. I'm also hoping stuff gets a bit more engaging soon as while I'm still enjoying it I can tell I'm going to get bored before finishing at this rate.

I remember them having cosmetic items in Dragons Dogma for Guts and Griffith. I think it was only available as DLC for PS3 and Xbox 360 though.

Played a little of the demo on Switch 2. I like the idea of putting down your sword equates to your character jumping higher, but those sword elevators have to be one of the most contrived setups to demonstrate the point. I'm not sure why that's make me so irrationally angry, but it does.
