:D It's hard not to quickly learn who cares SO much more about Apple news than others.
Actually I don't really care that much. You'll see me trying to talk people down from ledges in that thread fyi.

Anyway I'm out. See ya'll in the other Appley threads.

And that would completely wreck...a developer's conference?
I'm speaking for the public's interest in the event. You don't have to tell me, I'm the crank in every WWDC thread yelling at everyone for being dumb to expect basic hardware updates to the computers at the event every year, because I know WWDC isn't the right place to announce things that have nothing to do with development changes.

The problem I've read about the N1 is the multi-touch bug and the non-responsive capacitive buttons (has the wireless been fixed yet?). Both have been fixed on the Incredible. The Incredible also has 8gb internal memory, better camera, and the FM radio is enabled, so I wouldn't call the N1 identical.

But then again I wouldn't call the N1 a POS either.

its basically the exact same hardware, unfortunately google hasn't been very quick to fix the touch issue. The nexus one also has an issue with the kernel it uses not recognizing all the internal memory, so yes, there are things that need to be fixed, but nothing is hardware limited (besides the 8gb internal memory and camera for the incredible). Rumor had it they were waiting to push down an OTA update when Flash released for it, we shall see

Bloggers/press will still be there to report it to the high heavens. Ain't nothing to worry about - Apple has this patented.

Am I missing a subplot in this thread?

How about we have a contest, Photoshop what you want in the next iPhone the winner will be gifted a $ .99 app :D

Krypto and pxleyes are having a lovers quarrel.

Frankly, I can't care about the iPhone now that Androids are out.

The Gizmodo post I saw on Saturday said it was running a new OS. But they also said the phone "died" and they couldn't turn it back on, or something.... I don't know, it does sound kind of fishy.

Steve Jobs probably hit the "Kill Prototype #4597 and corresponding employee" button. The phone, and the previous owner is now dead.

Do tech sites really make enough off advertising dollars to make up for that?
Honestly, I have no clue. Only time I go to them is during Apple liveblogs. I see they're plastered with Kodak ads right now. Is that how Giz always is? Really though, this is the sort of thing you can take a loss on.

i for one wouldn't mind if iPhone conferences where separated out from WWDC. Apple has been trending to this with individual smaller product introduction events.

It could help reinforce the development aspect of the conference and quiet some botching that apple has completely forgoten osx.

Two problems with that;

1) If all Apple has to show is iPhone stuff, it makes little sense to have a keynote full of nothing.

2) iPhone OS platform developers make up a very significant proportion of ADC members now.

I dig the design. I'm at the end of my contract for the 3G so this is a welcome upgrade.

Remember back in the day when Apple used to actually surprise us during their conferences? They'd even have the new products available day and date to boot. I miss those days of not having to salivate over scraps of rumors and leaks lol.

Actually the Incredible uses a different touch screen sensor than the N1 and Desire. It uses the Atmel while the N1 uses the Clearpad so yes it is a hardware limitation and software updates is not going to solve the touch issues completely. Google has already confirmed that it's not an android issue. If you read the reviews of the incredible, most of them say the screen is much more responsive.

All of this is still true.

Holy crap @ the haters:

iPhone 3G: This shit it ridiculous! No flash, horrible screen, no multitasking, no copy and paste. Get a Droid, yo. :lol :lol

After all this shit has been announced:
I don't get what all the fuss is about. This stuff already existed in input any of the 10000 Android models here.

Keep that shit out of here. The iPhone, hardware and OS is improving at a fast rate. Don't come in every fuckin Apple thread to spoil the party with your points. Because even IF the iPhone did everything the Droid does, you STILL wouldn't like it, because its Apple. The supposed poster boy for consumer whorism. We get it. You're different. No one cares. GTFO.

But wouldnt keeping everything airtight until the conference means you're SCRAPING for info? Making the wait even harder.

Man, before the MBP was announced, people were trying to occupy their time drawing millions of concept for the non-existent upgrade to the PB G4, the Powerbook G5. :lol Now we get pics and leaks all around. Ask those same guys what they'd prefer, and drawing concepts wouldn't be the choice. Although it is fun to do so. :lol

I wonder if apple is going to make the voice recognition application open to developers. Be very neat to have a universal translator in an app.

iPad + universal translator = Star Trek realized

Why oh why do we only get the one picture of the internals if they went through the trouble of disassembling it? We may be able to tell using more thorough internal pics whether it has the A4 chip, or more RAM. I'm wondering if they're saving that for another post? Although today's was quite extensive.

They are preparing another post, according to the Gizmodo head's twitter account.

Really nice design. Looks a lot more sturdy too. Like someone else said, I hope the back does not scratch easily so I can pass on a case.
The Apple promos for the front facing camera are gonna be the lone selling point for a lot of people.
