I'm such a cheap bastard. Charitable but cheap. I hate paying for things. If something costs $0.04 and I hand you a nickel I expect my change. I was a Gold Member for a couple of years and then thought to myself. I don't need that. I only did it because I wanted to "help" Neogaf when EviLore sent out the call. It's a great forum and if my money and others could help keep it that way I was ok with it. The last few weeks of not having Gold showed me the error of my ways. I don't know how anyone uses this site on mobile with the ads. Maybe it's my old eyes and bratwurst fingers. Navigation was too hard. So henceforth I'm living the Neogaf Gold Lifestyle. 4-Lyfe. Really though, everyone should sign up.

Would if I could. But living on a fixed income I have to pick and choose my expenditures on a month to month basis. Especially in the first half of the year when literally every major annual bill or medical deductible hits.

I'll be honest, I don't totally understand how GAF gold works. I pay for it monthly, but every so often I'll receive gold from my posts. My assumption is that it would stack, but then I'm charged monthly anyway.

Either way, I don't care. I pay for it because I like supporting this forum.

Gold is really a dark theme unlock for your phone at night because the ads all contrast blinding white light against the rest of the site lol.

Gold Is (was) a really nice/neat feature to have but after the latest changes, I don't know, it feels weird/lesser than it used to...

When navigating the forum you used to be presented with that cool banner "X user replied to your post" or "X user reacted to your post" and it would show what emoji was used etc etc.
Nowadays, only the bell/notifications icon will light up and even that isn't accurate since it may show that you have 2 notifications and yet, when you refresh the page the number shoots up to -say- 6 or 7 or more.
Other times, it shows you have 0 notifications and you have to refresh the page once again for it to light up and show you a number.

Tyler said that it was done on purpose for usability reasons as the notification banner/pop-up would flood the screen and I get that, it's just that it isn't "fun" like it used to and I hope that the team could revisit the old system(?) again and maybe try to improve upon it since now it almost feels you're not on Gold anymore.
