I can't write movie reviews for shit (or writing in general really), but I just saw this one in theatres and it was pretty awesome. Last thread made about it was like 2 months ago, and it didn't even have impressions. Seems like this one is going under the radar. Had fantastic acting and a badass story. In a world of Desolation of Smaug, American Hustle, and Wolf of Wall Street, it manages to deliver a lot of movie in an actually reasonable fucking amount of time at under 2 hours length.

Don't know what else to tell you guys, but there's my recommendation. My personal favorite movie of 2013.

Yeah I always pictured McConaughey as not a great actor but apparently sometime in the last few years he went to space and trained at 50 times Earth's normal gravity because his acting is beyond super saiyan now.

Thats like saying starring Robert DeNiro from Meet the Fockers.

Meet the Focker's was DeNiro's magnum opus.

Its a film thats really aware of McCoaughey's aggressive sexy swagger, and it turns into something very sad and tragic. His charismatic attitude and Hollywood star smile says something very different coming his emaciated body and bruised face. Its a really great performance for him, in a year he's already been quite impressive(he's great in Mud, and one of the best parts of the Wolf of Wall Street).

I don't know - that subcutaneous facial fat is nearly impossible to replace without surgery. Bale looks much (MUCH) better than he did in the Machinist, but he's never really returned to his pre-Machinist looks (imho). I think both of these guys are amazing actors, but I do think that there's a reason that Tom Cruise (also an amazing actor) has never done anything as extreme to his body in terms of weight loss.

This movie is pretty incredible.

Jared Leto in particular gives one of the best performances of the year. McConaughey's no slouch either.

In terms of acting it's really been an embarrassment of riches this year.

lol. He has had a great few years. Previously he was just a smary rom-com to me but now he's a cool dude.
