i mean i realize that xp cant see a hd over 137 or some fuckign gig before sp1/2 but i figured once I got 2 you know....the HD I DIDNT TELL XP TOOO FUCKING TOUCH would say hey we are already formated WITH FILES ON OUR FUCKING DRIVE

but nope, all my receipts, backups, MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gone

so is there like anyway to unfuck this drive?

i didnt know I have to physically remove all my harddrives when I redo an installation (even if its on A TOTALLY OTHER FUCKING DRIVE, so XP doesnt go and UNPARTITION EVERYTHING FUCKING god someone is getting shot today.

yeah I have that

it says 142.9 (or whatever) unpartioned space

If you wanted to, I know there are places out there where you can send your HD for data recovery. Or maybe you can copy the raw data on to your other HD, and find a program out there that will let you access your files. (maybe)

well Im using this prog from binary biz.com and it see all the files (like my hd wasnt ever touched) but they want 100 bucks for 1 gig and Im not spending a dime.

fuckit

this wasnt a hardware crash or a virus or anything I DIDNT TELL WINDOWS TO FUCKING TOUCH THE MOTHERFUCKER.....................

im seething ..............................fuck it jus fuckti 1

1) Calm down before you break something else. Yes, it's a Windows glitch, but you should have disconnected that drive before reinstalling anyway.
2) Check http://www.experts-exchange.com/Storage/Q_20699737.html - the post marked "accepted answer". Bookmark that site, it's very handy in general.
3) Try Partition Magic. It can be flakey though.
4) If all else fails, start over.

Don't hold me to any of these suggestions, I'm not liable for whatever result may come from their use. NO GUARENTEES. NO MONEY BACK. ALL SALES FINAL. NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO SERVICE. THANK YOU PLEASE DRIVE THROUGH.

Was that necessary?
Entirely.

Considering the amount of drivel on the OT board, I have to wonder why you picked on my cliche abuse when there are so many other, worse violators around here. :p
