Ben Carson is urging his fellow candidates to band together and change the debates. He doesn't want anymore to do with the lamestream media and all their gotcha questions.

Does Palin still have her network up and running?

It's not like anyone bothered answering the questions being asked in the first place.

Moderator: "Dr. Carson, my next question is for you. You've stated that you have a plan to fix everything that President Barack HUSSEIN Obama has ruined, and many people find this intriguing about you. So I have to ask, just how awesome IS your plan?"

Ben Carson: "So awesome."

*thunderous applause from the audience*

Moderator: "Thank you doctor."

"CNN reported that Carson said flatly that the candidates "need a change of format" for the upcoming debates, though it was not clear what that would entail. "

It feels like this is a running theme. He's never clear on how anything would entail. Health Care Reform, Tax Reform, Debate reform....gotta do something. Just dont ask me what it is because that would be a GOTCHA

He basically said that several times during the debate.

When asked what his alternative to Medicare would be, he proceeded to list off how much Medicare costs, how many people are on it, and then said the theme of his policies are that there are things the private market could maybe do.

I think he just read off his notes an FAQ about Medicare and then made some shit up because he certainly doesn't answer the questions.

I will make fun of carson for a lot of things, but not this. It's as clear as day what he's referring to.

10 candidates on stage is ridiculous, especially when half of them are polling at 5% or less. Remove the bottom tier, shuffle them into a kiddy table, tell the 1%ers no one gives a shit about (pataki/graham/jindal) to keep their asses home.

The remaining 5 candidates or so will get more time to discuss relevant issues which makes everyone happy. The dem debate was so much better because of this its not even in the same discussion.

It's also part of why he's popular. People can fill in the blanks to suit themselves. Hell, we've also seen plenty of articles about supporters who actively handwave away some of the specific crazy statements he's made.

I agree 10 candidates is too much. But in a way I think that's helped Ben Carson the most. It leaves less time to dig in on his views and get some actual details on what he plans to do. It's in his best interest to stay quiet and low key.

It might be a good idea to buy Mannatech stock now, since if this whole thing becomes a big news story, a lot of his supporters might start buying their snake oil just to be stubborn, coz that's how they roll.

Is Fox News not considered part of the mainstream media? And if not, why? Don't they boast the largest viewership?

It is not, because it's favorable to conservatives and right wing issues.

Despite having ratings that destroy both of their "competitors" and other national news, it's not mainstream.

These goofballs throw a shitfit when asked to detail their own tax plan, and they expect to sit in White House and answer much more critical questions? They blast the LIBURUL MEDIA over a question on how they would tackle debt ceiling, but they want to deal with Vladimir Putin, China and Iran when inside the White House?

These jokers aren't fit to run a kindergarten class group. Hell they're not even fit to take your dog out for a walk.

When they say mainstream they really mean liberal. They are just regurgitating words that get the Republican base all lathered up even though what they are saying really doesn't mean anything.

Kind of interesting since both Anderson Cooper and David Gergen last night said it is wrong to not consider Fox News part of the mainstream.

I suppose MSNBC is not mainstream since it is favorable to liberals and left wing issues?

Both networks for most of the day mainly tell the news and have on guests which often include political pundits of both parties.

At night both offer opinion shows. Fox has right wing shows, while MSNBC has left wing.

He's not talking about the number of people at stage at all, he literally says in the article that his content with the current debates are the gotcha questions. The fact that he's asking supporters for ideas on what a new format would look like kinda proves he has no idea what he even wants changed.

The thing is this implies that if you just present "the news" you are automatically presenting it with no opinions or context, ignoring the fact that what you choose and how you choose to present it blatantly makes it subjective. Compare:

"Fleeing man shot by police"

"Police shoot thief attempting to escape custody"

This a tired old false equivalency. Just because one station leans left and the other to the right does not mean they are equally biased and disingenuous.

Fox was the media wing of an organized astro-turfing effort to create the Tea Party. Without Fox News there would be no Tea Party, no Freedom Caucus, etc. It is not the same as MSNBC.

Ben Carson endorsing the company that he had no involvement with:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQSoHRwtwvI

Skip to 3:20 for a flat out endorsement.

Carson's business manager claimed Mannatech exploited him in this video and took the things he said out of context.

"The problem is Sam was trying to coach Dr. Carson in what to say and Dr. Carson is not comfortable with it. And so, Dr. Carson said what he said and he left the event. What we found out when we saw it posted on YouTube, they edited Dr. Carson's video and manipulated into making it seem like he was endorsing the product."

I guess he just didn't care about it being out there until someone brought it up.

Except then he said that it was a great product and he personally takes it during the debate, lol. I've never endorsed Ford, but check out this fantastic new 2016 F-150 w/ 3.5L V6 Eco-Boost I just bought, guys.

To anyone who's been paying attention Carson is clearly capable of lying through his teeth by using half truths and flatout cold denial of facts to make himself out to be whatever he wants (or needs) at any time. This isn't the first time he's done this, it's just the most bold example of it, doing it right live during a debate like that. He knew he was lying but figured the pros outweighed the cons because he knows most of his base will blindly accept his words at that time rather than any fact checking done later on. It's all about the moment, not the after debate newscasts, and he just blatantly went for it without batting an eye. Trump does it too but in a more flamboyant way, Carson's method is more serene and low key but it's the exact same tactic: say nothing meaningful and deny anything bad no matter how caught you are.

Coincidentally, the two most frequent outright liars are also the poll leaders, lol.
