KEY FEATURES
----------------------------------------

PHYSICS
With GT5 Prologue comes the addition of the professional physics mode, the most accurate simulation from PD to date. Hardcore fans of the series can now be fully satisfied with a driving experience that parallels real life. To keep Gran Turismo open to everyone, a more forgiving standard mode has also been included allowing the casual player to enjoy all that GT has to offer.

GRAPHICS
The Gran Turismo series has always been synonymous with incredible visual realism. In GT5 Prologue cars have been faithfully modelled with unprecedented accuracy, inside and out. On average, each car is said to have a total of 200,000 polygons — 50 times more than the cars in GT4 on the PS2.

The increased power of the PS3 meant that for the first time full interiors could be modelled, therefore a cockpit view could be implemented fully immersing the player in the racing experience.

ARTIFICAL INTELLGENCE
Due the increased number of opponents the AI needed to be redesigned. The final release is to feature improved AI compared to the Leipzig Demo (3 months old), and further developments are to be made for GT5 to support a proposed damage model.

STYLE OF PLAY
The traditional GT Mode style of game play is out, and a more casual pickup and play experience is provided. Whilst content may be minimal, the addition of a fully fledged online racing mode will guarantee the title an extended lifetime. Besides racing opponents, time and drift trial modes from GT HD Concept are to be included. The ability to tweak your setup is also provided via the Quick Tune facility.

ONLINE PLAY
For the first time in a Gran Turismo title, online play is publically available allowing up to 16 players to race each other in real time. Whilst details are scarce, integration with HOME is in development.

I. Can't. Wait. Great thread.

And for the love of all things holy, let's keep this thread about GT5, and not anything else. And let's not bitch about the prices since we DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH YET.

That said, let the awesome commence. :D

That is quite a first post.

What exactly should we expect to see from TGS aside from a kick ass video?

I'd love to see more of the front end, and even some Home stuff.

It should be when they reveal the city course (London) as well as when they talk more about the GT TV feature (this part is confirmed).

london as a course! ok i will latch onto hoping for that. I thought the london we had seen was just a photomode scene.

I wonder how london will be laid out.

London was confirmed back when it was GTHD. London was going to be one of the courses you'd download for GTHD once it was completed.

I hope I get a 350Z in Prologue. I'd almost bet on it since Kaz does own one, and loves it to death (as well as owning 2 Ford GTs, a Porsche GT3, and then some). Anyways, it'd be so fucking awesome to drive my car on the PS3. GT4 isn't cutting it for me anymore. I need to see my Z in HD sexiness. =)

the king is back bitches!

btw, great thread and great first post. i was getting lost with so many GT5 threads since E3.

can't fucking wait:D

VQ 4 Life!! I think it should be in Prologue though I haven't seen it in any of the vids yet. Since my car (G Coupe) was in GT:HD on the PSN, I hope they bring it to Prologue as well!!

where have they said they will support dualshock 3? and when has dualshock 3 been announced?

How much updated is their physics engine?

btw, VQ engine kinda sucks because of the amount of gas it eats for the power output

Here's the direct link to the screens I posted in the other GT thread. They removed the pics because I bypassed their banners.
Already got them covered in the original post, Gamersyde has them in their 'original' resolution too. :)

Before Leipzig the Official Japanese GT5P page had this image.

In regards to the physics, you won’t really know until you’re playing it with a wheel and simulation tyres. Most hands on impressions appear to be conducted using super soft racing tyres — the equivalent to driving on rails.

I've had my G for two years and have been around 23-25mpg. I think its a fair trade off, considering the performance.

Having Daytona in the game is huge. Possible indication that one of the new things they're adding is NASCAR?

A demo huh...could be interesting! First I have to get a ps3 though.... I hope this game brings My love for GT back. GT4 was a big letdown sadly.

Probably but I thought EA had the license to Daytona also.
Well I didn't mean that EA had an exclusive license like they do with the NFL. I just meant that we haven't heard anything from PD about a Nascar license. It would kind of be odd to announce a Daytona track and not announce that they partnered with Nascar if that was their plan.

Doubt it. Sports cars run at Daytona, and I think Le Mans/IMSA cars do as well. Hell, they have bikes there too. I don't see a point in having stock cars in it since they are just bastardized versions of street cars. At least open-wheel cars offer something different. PEACE.

Wait wait wait Daytona is a GT5P track?

It could be something they're still working on like getting Lamorghini's and Porsche's. They just mention they're working on securing those licenses but won't say anything other than that in case they can't get them. Kaz has said he's looking to add new racing styles with each new GT, although the only one i've heard him mention for GT5 (other than drift racing) is midget racing cars.

I think it's pretty sad that GT5 Prologue is now DECEMBER in Japan. That means GT6 is DECEMBER 2008 at best. More like 2009. Yuck.

Wait what?

Also, is G25 the best wheel out there?

ALSO, are they planning to release a wheel specifically for GT5/GT5P?

Yep, what's interesting about that is on the map area of GT5P several places are listed. Some people didn't think it was much of a deal, but one of those locations was Daytona. A few others were

DAYTONA BEACH - Daytona International Speedway
BRANDS HATCH - Brands Hatch Circuit (Location: KENT ENGLAND)
SONOMA - Infineon Raceway
SUZUKA - Suzuka Circuit
NURBURG - Nurburgring
LEMANS - Circuit de la Sarthe
SHANGHAI - Shanghai International Circuit
MONTERREY - Laguna Seca

Credit to SIGUEL at GTP.

Polyphony has their work cut out for them. They've said they're going to model different pit areas for every location in the game.

That's... interesting. Very interesting.

GTHD managed a worldwide simultaneous release, no? Can't see why they won't pull off the same.
GT:HD was also a far smaller deal. GT5P has 4-5 times the amount of cars w/ interiors, 5 times the amount of tracks + whatever variations there are, GT.TV, 16 player online play, Home integration, etc. I'm trying to dig up the GT4P release dates for Japan and Europe, and it looked like it was released in Japan December 2003 and then in Europe May 2004 (though it is supposedly coming out this year for Europe). Hopefully everything is released on the same day everywhere. :)

I hope thats a sign that every F1 track will be in GT5!!!
Imagine if Kaz is able to get the rights to classic F1 cars as well!!!

I think Sony needs to start a Halo 3 Level ad campaign for PS3 once GT 5 Prologue is ready to roll to showcase any and every game possible.

PS. I hope they add Spa Francorchamps too.
