Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

lol

Serenity Now Seinfeld GIF

It's a good representation of the GPU fucking melting if it tried that.

Agreed. I just have a feeling that they will figure it out. lets face it, hellblade 2 was the only 30 fps game this generation and they were able to patch in a 60 fps mode as well. these CPUs are far more powerful than people give them credit for. Richard did some testing and found that the zen 2 CPUs in these consoles were like 7x more powerful. Thats a huge jump gen on gen.
Hb2 is probably a terrible example tho, cpus probably sleep while that game run...

And if everything goes accordingly, you never saw a game like gta6 before, there is no comparison to make with a similar game.

Even other open worlds should not be close.

As an asset\texture\character models dude, this game graphic wise is like my arch-nemesis 🥲

It is literally the opposite of hb2, shit ass game with the best assets ever where this is like a dream game to me with all the graphical aspect i love toned the fuck down:lollipop_squinting:
Crimson Desert might be the second game where I fully support modders going crazy with reshades, ENB, and color grading mods.

With the first game being Cyberpunk:

Is there a list somewhere of games using virtualized geometry systems? Is it still just Shadows and nanite-enabled UE5 titles? Have we seen it any other engines yet? At this point I can't take anything seriously as "next-gen" no matter its detail level if it's still full of pop-in.
i dont know about a list, but obviously all UE5 games with nanite. FF7 Rebirth is on UE4 and uses mesh shaders, but it has pop-in everywhere in performance mode. Even on the Pro. They do push a lot of different objects in their hub worlds so maybe thats where all that mesh shader logic went in.

Alan Wake 2 uses mesh shaders. this was a pretty big deal when it first came out because it ran like shit on hardware without mesh shaders becasue they didnt offer any fallbacks. this was later patched but the game heavily utilizes next gen hardware.
Avatar uses mesh shaders/primitive shaders for their foliage. I think they only do this on consoles. But it also has severe pop-in during flight so its probably not as advanced as nanite.
RE Engine was supposed to be integrating mesh shader support. Not sure if we have seen them in any game just yet.

And thats about it. With everyone moving to UE5 aside from first party sony and nintendo studios, its safe to assume, we will see more and more games use it going forward. Halo is supposed to be releasing this summer with gears soon after in fall.

I don't like to rely on mods to fix new games.

But i would install the shit out of an high res texture pack in this one.

Don't care for reshade or other color changing stuff.

Probably best meat rendering I have seen in games, still far from the looking real tho.

For those interested :

The fish the woman cuts is found in the earliest book about mythical stuff in China, called Classic of Mountains and Seas. It is a carp with the face of a man and its voice sounds like a mandarin duck.

The piece of meat with eyes is also in the book, and it's called Ju Rou, you cut it and eat it and then it grows back as before (that is why the woman puts a piece back on the wall).

The guy inside the clam looks like Zong Khui but it is not him. He is from another classic named Rites of Zhou. Don't know what it meant because my Chinese friend doesn't know either...

I guess we need to read those two books to prepare for this one.

Next time remind me to refuse your "folklore sushi" dinner invitation dude :messenger_kissing_smiling:

I agree which is why this is a rare case for me. I don't think the Sega arcade-style, bright blue blue sky is the right fit for Crimson Desert.

Damn, that looks outright incredible. Color grading robbed the game of its character, but I might have to line up a replay after I'm done with RE9.
