I'm going with Pistachio. You have to work to get to the nut, and the flavor is amazing, despite being the ugliest of all nuts. They look like petrified giant rat turds. Although I'm also a big fan of the Macadamia, based solely on how impenetrable the shell is. Though the Macadamia nut itself is grossly overrated. They taste like Cashews, but Cashews are cheaper.

Pistachio are the best in my opinion. I really like pecans in a nut medley, but I find myself getting sick of them in large amounts. They're best when you find them hidden under a chaff mix of peanuts and cashews (aka plebian nuts). Pistachios I can just munch on nearly anytime without any sort of companion nut.

some of those aren't really nuts OP they're seeds of drupes. hazelnuts are true nuts so I pick that I eat a decent amount of hazelnuts. now if we're allowing seeds then flax/chia seeds are essential, but must be combined with either almonds or walnuts/hazelnuts to create a proper omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. imo can't have one without the other

I have very fond memories of eating those.

But in general, I like pretty much any nuts. I like pine nuts too - but they are quite expensive.

I eat a handful of nuts every morning and sometimes as an evening snack, I’ll easily pick walnuts, almonds, pistachios, cashews. Pecans are god tier in pie. Macadamia cookies are amazing.

Hazelnut only reminds me of coffee, and chestnuts only remind me of Christmas. No idea what Brazil and filbert is.

I typically hate nuts because they usually ruin every dessert they've ever been put into.

The exceptions are almonds, hazelnuts, and peanuts. The latter of which isn't even a nut which justifies my hate more.

Walnuts are so miserably bitter to me that they all need to be destroyed and never put into another brownie again.
