Since they cut last gen it seems to be getting better with these recent updates. I stopped playing ages ago due to only being matched with non-english speaking players.. :\

Just a warning to you folks shit's expensive and that just to set the tunning base on your vesicle but R* went all out on customization with a whole load options once you have the cash for it.

My friend told me that he bought a Voodoo, and that he would have had to pay another $420,000 on top of that just to be able to mod it

No thanks, Rockstar.

Are you sure it's a good thing? Because I would guess that their focus on the next GTA will be more on online too when they see that it is more lucrative. I would guess that what we'll see is less and less emphasis on the single player and just using it to entice people to go over to MP (kinda like what I hear has happened to COD).

This is the worry. GTA5's online is one of the worst implementations I've seen in a game, just loading and menus all the time, it's awful.

So they didn't even add the lowriders to single player. Lame as fuck.

I wonder why they stopped bringing stuff to the singleplayer. I've been waiting to fly the Hydra ever since the Heist update, and I suppose it's never happening. Surely it's just a checkbox they'd have to tick when they send the patch out.

The new weapons were added, but other than that, yeah they're still locking stuff to their shitty online mode. Modders added stuff like the Hydra to single player, so I guess we'll see what they do with this.

Good thing I ran into some . . ."Criminals" a few months ago

EDIT: oh they unlocked car modifications, so that you no longer need to do races

Liberty City horn is best horn

Really cool trailer but i can;t wait to see trailer for SP DLC if we ever get one.

Okay, so I guess this is a bit cheeky of me.

But I know a guy who knows a person who works at Rockstar. I live in the central belt of Scotland, used to be just down the road from Rockstar North's offices actually, so my friends and I encounter people who work on GTA fairly frequently. I've personally met 3-4 Rockstar North staff in the last few years and had really interesting conversations with them.

These people are some of the most NDA'd people you could ever meet. They seriously can't even talk about the most mundane, dull things about the new GTA game or what the team are focussing on.

But my friend managed to get the person in question drunk while on a night out with several folk, and apparently dropped constant sly questions trying to get something about GTA to slip. He's a playful guy, it wouldn't have been malevolent, and he didn't press when the person got slightly irritated at one point. (I think he brought it up again later when everyone was proper wasted :P )

The only tidbit of information he managed to gleam was, to paraphrase, 'There is never going to be story DLC for GTA V'.

I can't remember what the exact words were, but it was something like, 'GTA Online is all we're going to work on' or 'GTA Online is the only focus for the long-term' or something like that. It was more conclusive. I'm irritated I can't remember the exact phrase.

But whether you want to believe that shamefully imprecise, second-hand anecdote or not, I think it's pretty safe to assume we're not going to get any singleplayer DLC for GTA V. I believe we would have certainly known about it by now.

Can you hear the modded speakers from others online in your session when you're standing next to them on-foot? Are the speakers animated? Pressing questions.

It wouldn't make them money, so it's not worth their time

The vehicle functions are cool, which makes it even worse that it's restricted to online.

Yeah, I'm still wondering why Rockstar didn't add the Chrome Rims option into the single player, and now this? ... I feel like there must be a reason for them not to do it, but I'm pretty sure Rockstar hasn't talked about it, and have no intention in doing so either.

Just read about that and looks like R* wants you to buy those Shark Cards. I also don't have time to play the heist.

I've been saying this all along and so many people tell me that it's fine and that you don't have to buy them. Yeah, you don't have to but as some one who spent a lot of the game not using glitches and grinding money cause I refuse to pay for MTs, the game is pretty grindy without it (it's not bad enough to totally ruin it, they did a good job of that, but it's bad enough you can tell it's on purpose. Particularly with some decisions they made like making you pay if your car blows up or pay if you blow up some one's car. And note soon as heists came out and things got more lucrative, things also got a ton more expensive to make up for that).

Honestly, I started abusing the chrome car spawning just cause it made the game feel a lot more balanced money wise. Of course that went away (note, R* is pretty quick to fix bugs that get people money. Course bugs in SP don't get fixed so much, no MTs there).

If you want to get money by not playing the game....yeah, buy a shark card.

Or alternatively we don't really care for the heists but with how they price everything cause heists are there and they need things expensive enough that heists still aren't enough to get the items without grinding them some. No, I won't spend the money on the MTs, but if I find the game is too grindy without paying for MTs and I can't find a reasonable glitch, probably makes me not want to play *shrug*. I'm sure R* could not care less though. I'd rather they have MTs for customization and not stuff that encourages them to make the game grindy if you don't want to pay for MTs.

Not in SP? What the hell R*?

No MTs in SP. They don't want you playing SP, that's not where the big money for them is at.

I'm at the point where I know that anyone who says this is utterly full of shit, or is just completely clueless when it comes down to it.

Got everything I wanted in the game, Planes, attack chopper, speed boat, big apartment full of cars. Never payed for a shark card. I guess im full of shit though.

There definitely some grinding when the game first game out. But now there are way more ways to make money. Heists, Freemode events; daily objective rewards that stack money and RP. And also Rockstar events where they boost RP and Money on specific jobs and have special supply drops. If R* just wanted everyone to buy shark cards these events would never happen.

Shark cards are there for people who don't want to play the game to earn their stuff.

Even when I played GTA Online from the start on PS3, I knew that unless you want to grind for an eternity (And that means menus and loading screens galore) then you buy the Shark Cards. Then again, I am not vehemently against MT's like some on GAF are, but when it's like that, you kinda are faced with giving in, or giving up. I simply gave up.

Doesn't help that the game when I played it simply wasn't fun on what made it GTA. I really only enjoyed the game when I played in races. Get back out into the open world, and I simply stressed out about some cunt firing a rocket and destroying my car, accidentally killing a human player and being placed in the cheaters pool, etc.

No MTs in SP. They don't want you playing SP, that's not where the big money for them is at.

This is the main reason why I stopped play was because of the grinding and also there is the lag in the game as well.

I've only played the PS4 version but you can turn on passive mode, where nobody can attack you (and you can't attack anyone). I always turn that on when I play.

I enjoyed GTA5 MP for a long time but when I stopped playing never really felt any desire to login again. Will check this update out but just like any MMO it is sort of like when you are done, you are done.

For a long time early this year there were a number of money exploits, I made up to something like 70m online bux just duping my garage over and over and I know that exploit was live for at least a month. Since you can't trade/give money I never really felt too bad about it, trying to grind that would be insane and there's no way I'd spend real money to buy digital cars.

I don't know for you guys, i stopped playing MP after Heists. SP is still my main focus 'till i hit 100% in the PS4 version just like in PS3.

Somewhat the same. I generally only play multiplayer if friends are around. Otherwise, activities with random players is too loose and predictable. (Free-roam deathmatch, basically)

Jobs are there, but the matchmaking is awful.
