GTA:SA Xbox pics

Is it pretty much getting the same treatment as the Xbox double pack? Cleaned up textures, clarity, framerate, detail & reflections added to cars, custom soundtracks, ect?

Alex, I'd assume "yes". Vice City and 3 got that treatment, I don't believe Rockstar would take a step back with the Xbox rev of this generation's flagship title. BTW, if the loading times on Xbox match HDLoader on PS2, I'll buy this version too. :D

I'd post 'em but they're scans from a German mag, so I didn't know if that was alright.

well there is that 6+ page thread with those Zelda scans from that Spanish mag, so post em up :)

Damn i need to get hopping and play Vice City before I move onto this one. Or is it ok to just skip it and just go with the additions that San Andreas has? I'm up to my arm pits with GTA3 as it is.

I'll go with the PC version instead. I can't wait to see what mods and hacks they release for it.

Good point. How well do the GTA games work with gamepads? I might go buy one of those Logitech Rumbleforce pads that resemble PS2 pads.

Vice has quite a number of improvements over 3, and even has some things that SA lacks (like weapon selection-why the fuck did they take out the PSG?)

Yep, that's the one I have, the Logitech Rumblepad 2. I used it with Vice City and it's perfect, just like the PS2 controller.

How is the wireless pad versus the wired rumble pad? The wireless looks like it might have a little better grip to it.

I wouldn't be able to tell the difference since I only have the wired one. It's a bit builkier than the PS2 controller where the rumbling motors are but not by much. It's pretty comfy and has 2 rubber grips on the sides.

the wireless one is pretty nice, plus you can get it for 30 bucks at amazon.. just head down to Comp USA first, they should have both of them on display with the mice. so you can pick them up and whatnot.

Here are the details of this version, translated from that mag.

- Like the upcoming PC version and even the PS2 version, the Xbox version has almost no loading times other than the beginning after you load a game.

- The framerate was noticably more stable than the PS2 version when the Dutch Xbox Magazine guys saw the game.

- The Xbox version will feature sharper textures than the PS2. Whether or not it will have the highest resolution textures that the PC will have it yet to be seen.

- The Xbox will feature a reworked lighting system rather than keep the PS2's version.

- It's no surprise that custom soundtracks are back, so you can put in your own music CD's and play them in-game on your own radio station.

- The Xbox version will feature a replay mode just like previous PC versions.

- The magazine mentioned that the two player cooperative mode will return in the Xbox version.

My bro got the PS2 version for me (along with a strat guide) for my birthday, but after hearing about the XBox version I flipped it along with the disappointing Smackdown vs Raw for GT4. Think I only played the PS2 version for like a half hour. :lol Plus I still wanna finish Vice City before getting into SA.

Just play San Andreas that's all. Unless you're a fan of the 80s settings or a big GTA fan, you shouldn't bother for Vice City imo.

I was absolutely loving this game until my PS2 stopped being able to play it in November of last year. I may as well wait for this now rather than buy a PStwo just yet....
